A traditional Jewish wedding incorporates many rituals, from the signing of the Ketubah (the Jewish marriage contract) to the traditional “mizinke” dance, a tribute to a mother who has married off her last daughter. And you can’t forget the “hora,” the traditional dance performed at Jewish wedding receptions. Sydney and Chris enjoyed all of these traditions at their ONE North Broad wedding in November of last year. We wish the couple a happy first anniversary!

Since the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia is known for bringing the world to Philadelphia, an international candy station featuring sweets from Philadelphia's sister cities helped guests get a taste of their mission and vision at their 75th anniversary celebration, hosted at ONE North Broad in April. Last week, we had the honor of hosting the Legal Clinic for the Disabled - LCD's 21st Annual Celebration at ONE North Broad! Legal Clinic for the Disabled - LCD is a dedicated network of attorneys and advocates providing essential services to low-income individuals with disabilities across Philadelphia and surrounding counties. This year’s honorees included the late Yoshiaki Yamasaki, former Executive Director of World Health Care Infrastructures/TPAC, PHLCouncil Councilmember Jamie Gauthier, and Linda Peyton, Esq., who served as LCD’s Executive Director from 2008 until her retirement in June 2024. It was an unforgettable evening celebrating those making a difference in our community!

The Legal Clinic for the Disabled - LCD's Fall Celebration, an event they've held at ONE North Broad several times, is a time for the nonprofit's supporters to have fun while giving back, and to honor deserving individuals for their work with those that LCD serves. Last year's event was particularly special as it was the 20th anniversary of the Fall Celebration! We are just as excited to see them for year 21 in a few weeks.

Looking back at some spookily spectacular events this Friday the 13th: our times hosting the Friends of Laurel Hill's Gravediggers Ball! This fundraiser for the Laurel Hill Cemetery - which, like the Masonic Temple, is a National Historic Landmark and part of the National Register of Historic Places - has been at ONE North Broad twice. (The photos shown here are from their 2022 event.) At both, guests explored the exhibit hall, toured the building, danced in the Grand Ballroom and more - all for a good cause!
