Delaware Valley Irish Hall of Fame - Phila, PA Delaware Valley Irish Hall of Fame (DVIHOF) seeks to honor those in the Irish Community who play a role in preserving and continuing the Irish traditions.

The members come from various Irish Societies and we are proud to be associated with the Commodore Barry Club, “the Irish Center”. It is the goal of the Committee to continue to support the Irish Center with our attendance and our donations. All proceeds from the Delaware Valley Irish Hall of Fame event are donated to the Irish Center. The Hall of Fame started with someone who is probably on a lot

of unofficial Irish hall of fame lists, Vincent Gallagher, president of the Commodore Barry Club and a well-known and well-loved entertainer.

“Vincent really came up with it,” explains Bob Hurst, former Philadelphia FOP head and former president of the Hall of Fame board. "He first mentioned it in 2001. After we organized a board of directors, we wanted to reach out to individuals and families throughout the Delaware Valley, and in many areas of endeavor, such as the arts, literature, dance, education, religion, entrepreneurship, the law … any area. So far, we’ve stayed pretty close to that goal.”

Tommy Moffit was the first inductee into the Delaware Valley Irish Hall of Fame. Twelve years later, the Hall of Fame is still adding to its list of honorees. The current president of DVIHOF is Thomas J Higgins

Congratulations to our branch Chairperson, Jeff Meade, for being inaugurated this evening into the Delaware Valley Irish Hall of Fame at the Commodore John Barry Arts & Cultural Center "The Irish Center". We thank Jeff for all of his efforts in support of both the Comhaltas Ceoltóirì Éireann and to the a Philadelphia Irish Community. An honor well deserved!
