It’s a new place. Until this moment I had never thought to go there, never wanted to explore it, never even thought I could walk down the side of the hill without slipping on the moist dirt and redwood needles.

Down at the base it was beautiful. I can look up at the incredibly straight, thick, powerful redwoods. And down on the ground it’s a woven carpet of needles with mushrooms popping through. The smaller trees are a vibrant green with the soft moss and they snake and turn and stretch out toward the light. It’s completely still except for the rushing river in the distance. .land.us
