It is with heavy hearts that the Arizona Limousines family announces the passing of our founder & President, Gene Fuller Pierpoint II. Gene passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long battle with illness. He had survived by his partner Linda Lynn, their two sons Skyler & Gene III and their three beautiful granddaughters.
Gene founded Arizona Limousines in 1979, but his passion for the industry began back in his days enlisted with the United States Army. There he was assigned as a personal driver to the Base Commander, where he learned the importance of punctuality, professionalism, courtesy & being well prepared. In the mid 70’s, he was working as a head valet for the Hyatt Regency & quickly realized there was an untapped market for high end chauffeured transportation in the Phoenix area. When Arizona Limousines doors first opened, the greater Phoenix area now had its first limousine service provider. Gene went on to found the Arizona Livery Association (now known as the Arizona Limousine Association) and serve as the ALA Director and President for many years. He also went on to serve on the board of the National Limousine Association for multiple terms. Throughout his tenures, he initiated strict standards and requirements regarding vehicle maintenance, quality, safety, and service to be provided by transportation companies across both the state and the country. His high caliber of service lead to NLA Operator of the Year, Limousine & Chauffeur Operator of the Year and numerous other awards & nominations. These standards, which continue to this day, are the backbone of the Arizona Limousines family. Gene will be greatly missed not only by his family but by the Arizona Limousines staff and the entire transportation community worldwide.
