DJ Wyzeman

DJ Wyzeman Professional Wedding / Event DJ & Hosting Services Hello, my name is Andre (DJ Wyzeman) Jones. I've been involved with music for a great deal of my life.
(5)

I'm a DJ, Emcee/Host, entertainer, singer/songwriter, and producer. I originally went to school for audio recording and engineering, which became the backbone of my musical journey. My journey as a DJ/EMCEE started 15 years ago running local karaoke shows, which evolved into DJ'ing private events, then inevitably weddings and hosting engagements. Having the opportunity to utilize my talents in the

entertainment industry has been one of the most fulfilling points in my career. I've had the honor of working with clientele that includes wedding couples, educational institutions, well-known corporations, and exclusive events. Whomever the clientele and event, I pride myself on providing the same level of performance excellence. I also currently sing with a band called The Pickup Lines Band, where I'm able to showcase and sharpen my skills as a singer, but more importantly, as an entertainer. I absolutely love the industry of love, which drives me to provide the best possible service that will create lasting memories for my clients.

It all goes by in a “SNAP”…

After this 3 day wedding weekend, I’m continuously reminded on how fast the moment happens for the bride & groom.

One of the best nuggets of advice I can provide to all couples; is to take time throughout the day to slow down and take it all in. It’s going to feel like so much is going on, but that’s why you put trust in the people you hired to get you through the day accordingly.

Your job is to enjoy the moment, because it all goes by in a SNAP.

Always an honor to bring joy on such a special moment in two peoples lives.

Who let the dogs out?

In my line of work being on your feet all day takes a toll. I picked up this anti fatigue mat from to take with me on my DJ events to give a brotha some much needed relief for these barking dogs.

It’s a vibe…

The art of Emceeing a wedding is knowing how much of yourself you need to inject into the fun.

* Sometimes you need to be the ultimate hype man.
* Sometimes you need to let the party “party” itself.

At the end of the day you do what’s best to provide the ultimate experience for the wedding at hand.

𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰...

I recently commented on an IG post by .thedj and the use of the sync button. The great echoed my thoughts on this subject.

I believe the use of the sync button is a matter of preference for the DJ, but in the big scheme of things the audience could care less. Just play good music and keep the party jumping!

𝗠𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 1, 2, 1, 2...

This may be a semi controversial topic amongst other DJ’s, but I have come to the conclusion that being a great wedding DJ doesn’t require having to be a technical dynamo on the 1’s and 2’s. I believe the most important aspect of being a great wedding DJ is the ability to be a master of ceremonies, also known as an emcee.

Here’s the definition for Master of Ceremonies:

“A person who acts as host for a program of entertainment.”

Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Let’s put this into perspective…

Let’s say that your reception is from 6-11 (Assuming you’ve hired your DJ to only service the reception). For the majority of those hours your DJ will be responsible for interacting, coordinating, and most importantly creating an entertaining atmosphere for you and your guests before any dance music is played.

A typical reception has at minimum following segments:

Grand Entrance
First Dance
Dinner
Toasts
Specialty Dances
Cake Cutting
Bouquet
Garter

For all of the following segments interaction is involved. This is where the separation from average to great happens. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the following statement from the bride, groom, and wedding guests before I’ve started my set, “YOU ARE KILLING IT”.

The magic happens in the connection and energy a wedding DJ can create prior to the music. It’s an important skill set and I would recommend that when looking for a wedding DJ, this skillset is strongly taken into consideration along with the ability to mix and play the right music.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲-𝗬𝗲, 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲-𝗬𝗲...

Being part of the bridal party is not just about standing next to the bride and groom at the ceremony. You have a responsibility to be an extension of celebratory energy throughout the evening.

I like to have a discussion before the grand entrance to remind the party of that responsibility and to help me keep the party going.

I’ll always do whatever I can to energize and entertain, but if the bridal party is involved…𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗙 𝗔 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗬!

Feel free to share this with a person that is going to be part of your wedding party.
