FINAL POSTER REVEAL: It has been so exciting to share this year’s poster lineup with you! Here’s another .does.cosplay design, this time celebrating the 25th anniversary of the with a riff on Judd Apatow’s 2005 coming-of-age comedy classic THE 40 YEAR-OLD VIRGIN. I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I did when I saw this movie in theaters and it’s one of the most rewatchable movies of all time. Show your love for our final poster in the comments!⁣

I can’t find a good way to work a quote from the movie into this post, so I’ll leave you with one of my favorite safe-for-work lines: “I hope you have a big trunk…because I’m putting my bike in it.”

Time for another hit of nostalgia! 2005 was a great year for the and our Best Picture winner, CHECKING OUT, had our audience buzzing. Based on a riotous Broadway play and starring Peter Falk, the movie tells the story of an aging actor who summons his family to tell them that he’s checking out as he lived - on his own terms. Now it’s up to them to convince him otherwise!⁣

Other notable events in 2005: Audiences flocked to see the latest STAR WARS and HARRY POTTER movies, the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl, and the world said goodbye to TV legend Johnny Carson.⁣

What do you remember about the 2005 festival?⁣

POSTER REVEAL: Wiggle your big toe if you love Amy Betts’s take on Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 samurai revenge thriller KILL BILL! I remember sitting in the theater (Harkins, of course) on opening night, smiling ear-to-ear. That’s basically how I feel now when I look at this awesome poster. Show Amy some love in the comments!⁣

We have such a talented group of designers and have ONE MORE poster to reveal later this week - stay tuned!

POSTER REVEAL: Did you know that, in addition to Black Friday - the most sacred day of modern consumerism - it’s also Record Store Day? We’re celebrating with and his take on High Fidelity! I think this one is a lot of fun and it would definitely make one of John Cusack’s top five lists.⁣⁣

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re thankful for 25 years of introducing our audiences to incredible movies from all over the world. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Today we’re looking back at our 2003 Best Picture winner MELVIN GOES TO DINNER. Directed by Bob Odenkirk - Saul Goodman himself - this stage-play adaptation follows a group of friends and acquaintances during a dinner conversation that is as fun as it is insightful. It’s a fitting movie to remember while many of us look forward to conversations with our friends and families later today.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Other happenings in 2003? THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING brought in over $1B at the box office, “binge-watch” entered our vocabulary, and MySpace launched its social media network.⁣
