Vamos, Peoria! The Valley’s largest Hispanic Heritage Month celebration is NEXT WEEK! Somos Peoria will take place on September 28 from 4-10:30pm, with a diverse sampling of Latin music genres. This year's event will take place at a new location, Centennial Plaza behind Peoria City Hall, 9875 N. 85th Avenue. Attendees can expect to be entertained by an eclectic lineup of talented bands, including Texas-based Tejano group The Latin Breed, Grammy award-winning big band Pacific Mambo Orchestra, local reggae-Latin fusion band Fayuca, and popular country cumbia group Caballo Durado. In addition to musical entertainment, festivalgoers can enjoy an evening of traditional foods, beer and margaritas, arts and crafts vendors, and activities like Ballet Folklorico and Lucha Libre.

Tickets are available for purchase online at $5 for early general admission or $10 at the gates. For an upgraded seating experience, VIP tickets are also available for $30 per person. The Cinco De Mayo Festival is not only about celebrating Cinco De Mayo and having a good time but we are also proud to be able to continue the tradition of the Arvizu Scholarship! For 30 years, the Arvizu Family has given minority students over $600,000 in college scholarships. At the Cinco Festival, there is a check presentation on stage to give these already hard-working students the recognition they deserve.
