Like many great love stories, the one shared by Desert Hearts and Walter Productions began long ago on a dusty dance floor... Though neither knew it at the time, what first seemed like a chance encounter would repeat itself time and time again and blossom into a beautiful relationship that has deepened through countless rendezvous across state lines through the years. 🌵💗

We are excited to announce the next chapter in this story today as Desert Hearts and Walter Productions team up for our biggest collaboration to date: Desert Hearts 2024! ✨

But things are a bit different for this Desert Hearts because it's happening in our very own backyard in Northern Arizona! Mark your calendars for July 4-8th, 2024 as we head up to Playa Ponderosa near Flagstaff, AZ — a summertime oasis that has become a second home to the Walter fam in recent years. 🌲

Going back to its roots, Desert Hearts 2024 will be a One Stage, One Vibe experience with limited capacity in an intimate, nonstop environment. We’ve been blooming back at #CanalConvergence this year with our installation Floom, a series of polished metal water lily sculptures created by our team & lead artist, Sean T French. They glimmer in the sun during the day and take on an LED glow at night, generating colorful reflections. Every evening, these seemingly tranquil lilies ignite, shooting flames 30 feet into the air. Hidden within each of the 12 smaller flowers is a powerful flame effect, and at the center is a single, extra-large lily that hides a unique fire experience within its petals: the “Big Flame,” which differs from the smaller flowers in a way that must be experienced 🔥 The light and flame effects harmonize beautifully when set to music for the nightly performances… don’t miss your last chance to see it this weekend before it’s gone! The Walter Show returns to 41st Annual BSU Spring Fling

Get ready Boise!! The Walter Show returns to Boise State University for the 41st annual Spring Fling on April 21st, 7pm - midnight! BSU students free and non -students $10 - kids under 12 free!

Eruption!🌋 The Arizona Science Center asked us to recreate Mt Vesuvius as part of the incredible “Pompeii The Exhibition”. Using state of the art projection mapping technology and flame effects we recreated Mt Vesuvius to the delight of everyone that witnessed the spectacle. Here’s the vehicle that started it all, #WaltertheBus, a two-to-one-scale replica of a classic VW bus. Walter began his life in 1963 as a lifesaving airport crash truck built by the now-defunct Walter Truck Company. After many years of honorable service stationed at Luke Air Force Base, Walter was decommissioned and ultimately came to rest at the Gold King Mine in #Jerome, Arizona, of all places, where in 2003 he was rediscovered, reconfigured, and reimagined as the world’s largest VW bus. But in a sense, Walter never really changed.
