The history of Village Floral:
At a young age, our owner, Josh, was introduced to a beautiful thing called a wedding. He loved everything about it, from the bride walking down to see her groom to the big cake that fed the hundred or so people there to celebrate the happy couple. Josh was also introduced to a sad side of life and that was a loved one’s funeral. Josh told his family “either I will be a wedding and event planner or a funeral director.” With Village Floral and Event Planning Josh is living out both of these, while being present and able to help during the happy times and the sad times in life. He has had the honor of officiating many weddings and funerals, and has walked alongside brides and grooms as we plan their wedding. He has also sat and cried with family members as we discus how best to represent their loved one with beautiful floral tributes.
In 2012 Josh took over Bloomers Florist in Ashtabula, sadly we closed due to issues beyond our control. In the last several years it has always been Josh’s goal to come back to the industry and follow his passion for wedding and event planning, and this resulted in the birth of Village Floral and Event Planning. They always say it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village and then some to help a business thrive. I would be lost without my hometown village and that is how the name came about.
Josh has many years of experience in wedding and events and in the floral industry and is a graduate of the following schools:
Floriology Instiute – Jacksonville Florida (Floral Design)
Penn Foster – PA (Wedding and Event Planning)
“I would love the opportunity to assist you in any aspect of my business from officiating to delivering a fresh arrangement for a birthday.”
