Due East - Film Script READING, directed by Jamie Buckner
November 16 at 7PM

Film script reading, directed by Jamie Buckner. Q&A to follow.

It’s 1882 in the lesser known, northeastern end of the great American frontier. Tom’s wife, Rose passed one year ago. He and their young daughter, Maisie, mourn Rose as their neighbor and Rose’s friend, Lucy stops by to check in on them. These two adults have a curiously tense dynamic but when Maisie suddenly runs off into the surrounding wood with night falling fast, nothing else matters.

Tom lost his wife, Maisie lost her mother, Lucy lost her best friend and in many ways, a brand new self she had just discovered. Grief is a universal language, experienced in infinite and very personal ways. Grieving the life we once knew is painful-growing to accept and learn for better and worse through trying circumstances shapes not only who we are as individuals, but as a community. / Tickets available at thestissingcenter.org

The Accidental Hero / Nov 10th @ 3pm.
The Accidental Hero is a multi-media one-man show about Lieutenant Colonel Matt Konop, a WWII American officer who miraculously liberates the Czech villages of his grandparents. It’s a true story written and performed by his grandson, Patrick Dewane.

Patrick’s grandfather refused to talk about his service in the war. When he died, his basement yielded a treasure trove of typewritten accounts, photos, and rare film footage. Tickets available at thestissingcenter.org
