Happy Thanksgiving

As I reflect on the 2024 season, I am so thankful for each and every one of you.

I’ve been learning about flower farming for just 2.5 years, and you all have been right here next to me along this journey. Thank you.

Whether you’ve sent me personal messages of encouragement, purchased at a market event, experienced the field in person through a You Pick event, photography session or our Pizza Night, thank you.

Thank you for including me in your super special moments this past year including Celebration of Life events, birthdays, Mother’s Day and senior photo bouquets.

Some days it’s scary to put yourself, your hopes, your dreams, your creativity out into the world and see if people will love it as much as you…so thank you for supporting me. Your support is the fuel needed to keep me going.

The field is resting now, just some eucalyptus left in the high tunnel to cut back soon and some sunflowers left for the birds to enjoy.

Welcome!!!

We have several new faces here so I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself.

I'm Megan, the visionary behind Hillview Flower Farm. I'm a full time home care nurse, mom to three kiddos (pr***en to almost driving), wife to my amazing husband James. I love Jesus and family and flowers and coffee!

I have always loved growing flowers. I started my first flower bed when I was in 8th grade, but for most of those years I focused on perennials in the gardens. In the spring of 2022, we moved into our forever home in Pine River, WI and I started dreaming of growing cut flowers, meaning flowers specifically grown for making bouquets. I dove into research and learning about the types and varieties of flowers, soil conditions, pest management, fertilizing and so much more.

And did I mention, I love people? I don't just want to grow the most beautiful, unique flowers, I want to create opportunities to bring people together to experience more JOY among the flowers!!!!

I just finished up my 3rd summer of learning, and I'm so excited for 2025!

Eucalyptus

And…surprisingly, some ranunculus corms decided to sprout again. Let the fall flower experiment continue

Just when I thought the season was done…a request for Omro Homecoming flowers came in! I cut every last bloom from the unheated greenhouse.

I think these turned out perfectly. No one will ever know it’s my first time with handheld bouquets, right? Plus a matching boutonniere 💜

The season ended so beautifully.

Thank you for all the opportunities to bring joy into your days, your workplace, your senior photos, your anniversaries, birthdays, Mother’s Day celebrations and celebration of life gatherings.

Through on the farm you pick events, yoga, photography and a pizza night, we tired so many new ways of sharing the flower field with you, thank you for being a part of all of those.

We’re already dreaming of the 2025 field, the things to do more of, the things to do better and the new!!!!

Pictures: the last couple bouquets and…frostmas! The field had a hard freeze last night and the beautiful blooms are done.

Thank you SO much for stopping out for flowers and refreshments with us tonight!!!! You all loved the flowers so much I actually will NOT be going to the Waupaca Farmers market tomorrow. If you were planning to stop there for a bouquet please contact me. I have enough flowers for a handful of bouquets but not enough to last a 4 hour market.

Again, thank you SO much. I hope you enjoy your blooms as much as I’ve enjoyed growing them and helping you make your bouquets!!
