'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the halls
Joyous guest were strolling, happy not to be in the malls!
The stockings were hung by the spa with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug by the firepits;
While visions danced in their heads of Lego’s and baseball mitts;
Out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the Front Desk to see what was the matter.
The moon on the ocean left a nice glow,
Giving a lustre of midday to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature surfboard and eight tiny rein-deer,
"Now, Aaron! now, Josh! now Gina and Jim!
On, Bill! on, Stella! on, Charlie and Lyne!
To the top of the pool! to the top of Marisol!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed in a wetsuit and made not a sound,
His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, in a bunch!
He looked like he'd just finished Kristine's Shell Beach Punch!
He spoke not a word, just a jingle of bells,
He filled all the stockings with memories and shells,
He said “yo, gotta go” and grabbed Chef’s Filet Burrito.
I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Merry Cliffsmas to all, and to all a good night!”
