I have had to think long and hard about how I was going to approach the synopsis of this wedding. So here it goes.

First off, congratulations to Mr and Mrs Plumlee. We were very happy to celebrate your day with you guys. I’m so glad the Louisiana weather cooperated to make for a damn near perfect day and a beautiful ceremony.

Williams showed up bright and early to get the bride and bridesmaids all picture perfect. And man she did a beautiful job. They were all gorgeous!

Powered Productions Mobile DJ Service LLC is always a joy to have out here and never fails to knock it out of the park.

Katy Pruitt, with Simply Southern (I can’t @ them for some reason) also whose birthday happens to be today (happy birthday) provided the food which was amazing as always.

Leeanne Vizena Coleman over at Front Porch Designs created all the flower and they were beautiful.

We legitimately had all of the ingredients for a glorious wedding. And it was. It was beautiful and the ceremony went off without a hitch. It was so pretty, I wasn’t even supposed to photograph it. But I couldn’t help myself.

And then the reception began. We had introductions. We had first dances and cake cutting and bouquet tossing and all the things that go along with a fun, enjoyable wedding.

Until someone decided to show their ass.

I’m going to leave this little tidbit of advice for anyone who might read this, which in reality might not be a lot of people, but if you’re invited to someone’s wedding and you decide to go, DO NOT ruin their day.

Chances are good they have spent countless hours and many thousands of dollars to try and have the most enjoyable and memorable day for themselves, all of their family and their friends. For someone to come to a wedding and destroy and end that for them is absolutely disgusting. And it pi**es me off. I do NOT want to end a wedding reception at 7:30. I do NOT want to have to literally make people leave. I hate all of these things on what is supposed to be our couple’s favorite day.

So don’t do it. Don’t show your ass. If you’re one of those people who thinks you might even have the ability to show your ass and ruin someone’s wedding…do everyone a favor and just stay home.

Again, congratulations Charlie and Corey. I hope y’all have many good years and well…you’ll always have a story to tell about your wedding day.

I almost went to sleep and forgot to make our post wedding…post.

We had another fantastic, extremely memorable wedding tonight. McKenzie and Braxton got married today and it was the sweetest, cutest wedding ever. They were just so dang cute. Being there to witness his reaction to seeing his bride for the first time is just one of best reasons we continue to do these things. I love the groom reactions.

We got 4” of rain on Thursday, which was Halloween, and then the rehearsal day remained this misty, drizzly kind of day. But today…today was perfect. Could it have been a little cooler in November? Yeah. But were the colors and the sky just perfect for a wedding day? Yes they were. It was just an all around awesome day.

We love being a part of two families coming together and celebrating the union of another couple. We really do have the best job in the world, even though at times it’s definitely a struggle. It really can be stressful trying to make sure everything is as perfect as it can be…but just look at these smiles. They always make it worth it.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Basco. We’re so glad y’all chose us and trusted us to make your day memorable.

I have been remiss in posting up some of the fall weddings we've been having. It's a little slower of a fall than usual and I blame this crazy economy, since most of our weddings book out over a year in advance. Our spring of next year is already looking crazy, so that's good. I'm going to see if I can get a few of these past weddings posted so people can enjoy some of these photos. This was Tristen and Leighton. They had a photographer, but I couldn't resist snapping at least a few...

I’m two days late on this one. Saturday night ran long…and I mean long, and by the time we got in bed I wasn’t awake long enough to even coherently string a few sentences together. Then we got up Sunday, helped them load up all of their stuff, which took 4-5 vehicles, and then we made a quick trip to Lake Charles, on to Lafayette, then finally back home just in time for Sunday night football. It was a veeeeery long weekend.

Nikki and Will came out to put their retainer down last year. We knew then that they were not going to take their wedding day lightly. Many plans, tons of ideas and there would of course be waaaay too much food. And that was exactly the case. We were unable to do a rehearsal on Friday so what does that mean for wedding day? Wing it. And we did. Believe it or not it was successful anyway.

Have you ever seen those places where they hang a huge chunk of meat and it spins and cooks while it’s hanging? Then they just slice meat off and throw it in a taco? Yeah, we had one of those. I couldn’t get enough. The DJ had cold sparklers and a huge fog machine. Will’s dad spent all night in the courtyard roasting A WHOLE PIG. I know we won’t forget it. I don’t think they will either. Can’t wait to see the photos. What a memorable wedding.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Patterson. It was one we won’t soon forget. Guaranteed.

I usually make these posts the night of the wedding but we spent too much time hanging out and enjoying our time and I just flat out forgot! Luckily CeeJay remembered to get out selfie done with them before one of them got a pie in the face. Yep. You read that correctly.

So I’ve said this before because, oddly enough, this is not the first time we’ve had a family return to marry off another son or daughter. In my book, there is no higher compliment. So when Ashlyn and Sean came out to tour and book their wedding, you know we were excited about it.

They picked a perfect day. That cool front lowered the humidity enough to make it *almost* fall out there. Almost.

We had a great time with these guys. Again. Their whole family is great and you know how much we enjoy partying with our past brides. They’re on their way on their honeymoon as I type this. We sent them off with some leftovers and their cake so I hope they enjoyed it!

Congratulations Ashlyn and Sean. Y’all be careful out there!

It is with a very, very heavy heart we have to tell everyone that Dozer has crossed that rainbow bridge. He touched a LOT of lives and met a LOT of people. He loved wedding weekends almost as much as we do and I just don’t know what we’re going to do without him. He was our mascot, our protection, our bestest boy and he is going to be extremely missed.

Early night tonight. We’re in bed and it’s only 10 til 2.

What. A. Day. Tristen and Leighton got married today. Right before she walked down the aisle she was bouncing in the living room excitedly exclaiming “I’M SO EXCITED! I’M SO EXCITED! It was so dang cute. I’ll never forget that moment.

We had such a good time with this group. The were honestly a super enjoyable group of people to spend the weekend with.

It’s not often our couples hire photographers to shoot their wedding but when they do I definitely take advantage by helping out CeeJay as much as possible trying to alleviate some of the burden. I took exactly 18 photos today. One was because they forgot to throw the rice after the ceremony and we couldn’t let that happen. So we set up specifically to get a rice throwing shot.

That’s all I got. My brain Is shutting down. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Bertrand! What a beautiful day for a wedding.

We’re back baby!

After a couple of reeeally hot months off, we officially started the fall 2024 wedding season today. It was an extremely long week what with preparing for a hurricane, thankfully getting missed by a hurricane, and then unpreparing for a hurricane and then prepping for that all important first wedding…Oofta.

Stacy and Chase was our first couple to get married this season and it was a beautiful wedding. These two have an absolutely awesome story of how they met and began dating. It’s not my story to tell, but if you meet them, ask them about it. Seriously, it’s a good one.

We love our couples and their families. We’re so thankful to become a small part of their story and journey together. I already can’t wait to get their photos done.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Dowies! I’ll let you know when I get the photos finished!

I only shot a few photos at this wedding of Reese and Hayden. I was too busy eating corn dogs. :D Just kidding, they actually hired a photographer, but I still needed to capture a few photos for myself and them. It was hot. It was our last wedding before our summer "break" and it definitely felt like it. But that didn't dampen any spirits on that night! It was a great way to end the season. Check out that corn dog stand! HAHA

It's time to share a few photos from my little sister's wedding. I finally got these done and to her so I can share them here now. I'll put a link in the comments for anyone looking for photos. It was a great time had by all. From the premature cork pop on the champagne first thing in the morning to the final photo of the last ones standing, it was a lot of fun. We got to see family we haven't seen in quite some time because well, time slips away really quickly. But it really was nice getting to spend some time with everyone. My dad finally got his first dance with his daughter and that made it extra special. Neli and Dylan provided the tunes and they're ALWAYS a good time. Katy at Simply Southern catered and made Festival Pasta that we're still talking about. What a weekend..

Spring wedding season 2024 has come to a close. And we did it in a huge way. I can’t wait to see the photos from this one. I did take a few for myself but not very many.

Reese and Hayden had their wedding last night. It was a very long, late night which is why I’m just now getting g to this post. There have been quite a few naps throughout the day. And man they have been needed.

So when Reese said they wanted to do a Vegas themed Elvis kind of wedding complete with a corn dog/funnel cake truck for food, you could say we were a bit excited. This girl never does anything small. 😆 And that proved to be true when that corn dog truck rolled in. Oofta that thing was HUGE!

We started setup on Thursday and of course as always, worked right up to wedding time. And it. was. ridiculous. Hanging fringe. Disco balls. Elvis memorabilia. And of course you already know about the Booths Classy Cruisers pink Cadillac! Somehow we all pulled it off and it was not the comfortable, south Louisiana June out there.

We had a fabulous weekend with these guys. Fantastic memories were made. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Smith!

Photos to come soon! I’ve already seen a few sneak peeks so they’re gonna be great!
