Lexx is lifting in honor of all Law Enforcement officers we have lost to su***de, as well as Daniel Garcia and Juliana Alvarez.

This will be the second year that Lexx has competed in Lifting the Stigma, and is coming for that 1st responder award that is sponsoring, but more than that, she is coming to help us lift the stigma on su***de, and honor the lives of those we have lost. Lexx is committed to raising awareness for su***de prevention, and being a mental health advocate.

We are excited and thankful to introduce our next Bronze level sponsor. Serving Pittsburg and the surrounding areas since 1985, Smith Furniture & Appliance gives back to the community in more ways than most people will ever realize.
When the Smiths came to the 4th Annual Lifting the Stigma last year to watch their grandson lift, they were struck by the number of people touched by su***de, and committed then to help us lift the stigma on su***de. Before we left the meet that day, Jim Bob told us to make sure to reach out to him early this year and he would help sponsor, and true to his word, it was an immediate “yes” when we approached him this year for sponsorship.

Thank you to the entire Smith Furniture & Appliance family for helping us on su***de.

We are excited to announce our next Bronze Level Sponsor. has supported our efforts to lift the stigma on su***de and mental health issues since the beginning. The only year they did not sponsor or donate was the year I dropped the ball and forgot to ask until right before the meet, and they apologized profusely for not being able to donate - even though it was my fault.

Pioneer gave us the option of either 2 custom belts for lifter awards, or monetary sponsorship, and since this meet is all about raising money and awareness for su***de prevention, we opted for the monetary sponsorship.
💯 of all entry fees, and sponsorship goes to the to aid in research, and providing resources for su***de prevention, and we can never thank our sponsors enough for their support.

Registration is open, and the meet has capped 3 out of 4 years, so get your entry in soon. Together we can on su***de.
If you are in crisis, please call or text 988

I pretty much always post sponsors individually, but this 1 just felt right to post together. The support of our family through the years of Lifting the Stigma has been amazing, and the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma is no different.
Chet and Shonda Zachry and Casey and Sharla Duncan have been there every step of the way supporting us and supporting our efforts with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention - North Texas Chapter.
Shonda and Sharla are more than just family, through their efforts at Grayrock Landscape & Irrigation and Cross Law Firm they are pillars of the community, who go about helping people behind the scenes - just because it is the right thing to do.
I may sound biased, and I probably am, but these 2 have stood behind me since I was a knucklehead kid, and have stood right beside Jodie and myself in our efforts to raise awareness for su***de prevention and mental health issues. This year they are once again stepping up as Bronze sponsors to help us bring an end to the stigma of su***de and mental health issues.
Thank you to the entire Cross Law firm and Grayrock Landscaping teams, and thank you specifically to Chet, Shonda, Casey and Sharla for all that you do for su***de prevention.

lifted last year at Lifting the Stigma, and is back again to help us Lift the Stigma on su***de and mental health issues. In his own words, here is what Lifting the Stigma means for Steven.

I’m thankful to be a part of this event again. This year I will be lifting to honor two police officers who have lost theirs lives to su***de. Officer Victoria Bailey # 1248 with Rowlett PD and Officer Jesse C**a # 37 with Waco PD. We need to challenge the stigma that surrounds mental health and recognize that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but of courage. let us commit to being a voice for those who cannot speak, to bring awareness to mental health struggles, and to remind each other that we are all worth saving. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can prevent su***de and offer the hope that every life deserves. For those who are suffering, please remember: you are not alone. There are people who care about you, who want to listen, and who want to help. Your life matters, and there is always hope, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. Let’s lift some heavy weight for all victims of su***de! 💪🏻

It is that time of year again, we are beginning the push for the 5th Annual Lifting the Stigma powerlifting meet benefiting the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention - North Texas Chapter. As we begin to reach out to potential sponsors, vendors, and lifters, please remember that 100% of all entry fees and donations goes to su***de prevention in the local area.
We are seeking monetary sponsors, donations for lifter awards, volunteers to work the meet, and many other things. If you or your family have ever been touched by su***de or mental health struggles, there is a place for you at this meet.
Please tag anyone that you know of that might be interested in volunteering, sponsoring, donating, or lifting. Please help us Lift the Stigma on su***de.
