Questions to ask before booking your venue:

• What is included in the rental price?

• Is there an additional fee to have your ceremony on site?

• Do they provide rooms for you to get ready in?

• What’s the weather contingency plan for outdoor spaces?

• Is gratuity included?

• Are live burn candles allowed?

• Do they allow you to provide your own vendors?

• What time can vendors set up day of?

• Are they handicap accessible?

Do your research and don’t book blindly!
Talk with your planner or other vendors for their feedback to ensure you choose the best venue for you 🫶🏼

Pro tips if you plan to repurpose any flowers from your ceremony:

• have a designated person that will be able to move them

• have an exact plan for where they are being moved to

• choose a space that won’t be seen by the guests prior to those items being repurposed

With the help of we were able to use this beautiful arch for K + Z’s ceremony then again behind their sweetheart table. The move was easy and out of view from guests, since they were in a separate location for cocktail hour, when they walked in the room it was as if the arch was always there 😉

My approach to managing your bridal party?
They’re a priority.

When we line up, the gum is out, phones on silent, sunglasses are OFF and they have 5 seconds to finish their seltzers.

I say jump, they say how high 🤝🏼

And they will never have to wonder where to go or what to do - because I’ve got their back like I’ve got yours 🫶🏼

My favorite venue coordinators stay in their logistical lane.

Here’s what I have covered while they give tours to possible new clients the day of your wedding:

• Reviewing and confirming photo locations

• Lining up the bridal party and showing everyone where to go

• Fix your hair, remove your veil and bustle your dress

• Making sure you always have a drink in your hand, and a plate of your favorite cookies from the cookie table are waiting for you

• Reminding you to change into your second outfits before nighttime photos with the photographer

• Confirming the songs and cues with the DJ for entrances and dances

•Navigating tricky family dynamics throughout the night

• Set up and break down of personal items and decor

• Being the point person for all vendors and handling any issues or answering any questions

Etc etc, basically everything BUT unlocking the doors.

Engagement sessions give you an opportunity to get comfortable with your partner and your photographer before the wedding day, and I highly recommend it.

Below are some tips and guidance from the one and only, to help you prepare for those photos 🫶🏼

• SCHEDULE EARLY — especially for the fall. Remember your photographers have a life outside of weddings, and that’s a busy time of the year for everyone!

• HAVE FUN — don’t put pressure on yourselves. This should not be a daunting experience, and the less you focus on trying to get the perfect shot, the more you’ll be able to relax and let your genuine personalities shine through.

• HAVE A DRINK — or two? Whatever calms your nerves. You can also incorporate props to help give purpose if you can’t shake those butterflies.

• COMMUNICATE — now’s the time see what works and what doesn’t. Go into it with an open mind and TRUST YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER.

My planning style? A subtle nod over a shout.

I’m not one to announce when I’ve arrived, because my “professionalism, warmth and unmatched level of organization,” makes my presence known.

I won’t be taking up space on your dance floor, but I will dim the lights as Mr. Brightside starts playing.

I’ll make sure to pack up the untouched wedding cake from your sweetheart table (you’ll want it later, trust me), and I’ll laugh hearing your relatives laugh while you carry on the family tradition of dancing to the Tarantella.

And I will *absolutely* give you the biggest hug before the night is over 🫶🏼🤗

I believe the best weddings and events are the ones true to your story, and grounded in hospitality: good food, great music and an inviting, welcoming space to celebrate.

My clients feel more like friends and family to me, and that’s exactly the way I want it to be 🤍
