I can't wait to start using this camera for projects and weddings! I was just messing around, testing it out, and absolutely love it! Such an easy workflow for color grading and easy on the back!

The room was pretty dark to begin with, and the low light capability really came in handy!

Today's wedding marks the final day of this beast of a camera. The Blackmagic 6k has been with me ever since I started my wedding filmmaking journey. It produced amazing images and videos but also came with backbreaking days. Holding this rig up all day took a toll on my body and it showed the following day. I have a new, smaller and lightweight camera system coming and can't wait to use it. I'll be keeping the Blackmagic 6k but more for professional shoots from here on out.

So, I wanted to take a moment to share some behind the scenes of the editing process that goes along with filming. When you hire a professional videographer and photographer, there is so much more that goes on behind the scenes than you may realize. The editing process is a very lengthy and a time consuming one. Each individual creator has their own unique style, but it's what separates the professionals from the amateurs. Now, we have all started as amateurs at some point, but it's our love and dedication to learning more that gets us to that next level. To want to pay attention to every detail. To stare at one imagine or one clip for an extended time in order to get it just right! 🙂 Below I have a short clip from the wedding I filmed yesterday. It shows how the image is filmed in camera and then through the process of editing. It's called color-grading. The first section is called "RAW" - This is how the image looks "in camera" (There's many different forms of this but I won't go into detail). The camera records in such a way that SO MUCH information is being recorded to let the editor be creative with the image (color and dynamic range - I won't get started on that! haha) The second section is "Color Correction" - This is converting the image to look as organic as possible (natural). The last section is "Color Grade" - This is where the editor can get creative with how the image looks - the final touch. This part can portray certain moods from dark and moody, to light and airy, to film-like, etc. - I went with a moody feel for this one. It can always change later on. I know this is a long read for a post, but I just wanted to bring this to light and maybe give an understanding as to why some of us charge the prices we do. We want to give you that professional look! 🙂

A (very) quick edit of 1 scene from today's wedding! I normally try to upload the footage the same night (if I can) and see how some shots come out. This is a favorite!
