If there’s one thing that makes me twitch, it’s incorrect grammar on wedding invitations. And one of the biggest offenders? “Kindly RSVP.”

Did you know that RSVP comes from the French phrase répondez s’il vous plaît, which literally means “please respond”? So when you write “kindly RSVP,” you’re actually saying “kindly please respond.” (Cue the eye twitch.)

The correct way to word your response card? Stick with a simple “RSVP” or “kindly respond.”

Marry a man who will wipe away your tears, be there for you in the (very) bad moments and who will still give you butterflies twenty years later. I don’t often get personal on Instagram, but the good lord has tested me and my family over the last three years: in the span of 18 months, we had health problem after health problem, multiple deaths (including my dad and my nana) and life just keeps throwing us curve balls. There’s absolutely no one I’d rather have by my side than Ben. I wake up every day thankful that I’m married to this man. He is my strength, my steadiness and the calm in my storm. 17 years ago we vowed in sickness and in health, and we meant every damn word.

Join me on an 8 hour work day as a work at home boss-babe on a snowy Monday in my North Hills home outside of Pittsburgh, PA! My day starts at 4:30am with a cup of coffee and the news. I have insomnia and as internal clock so I’m up by 4/4:30 every single day. Once the kids are up for school by 6am, it’s hustle and bustle until they’re out the door. I’m at my desk by 8am working on Etsy orders that came through the night before. I batch work orders meaning I design all stamps first, then all vow books, then all guest books. It helps keep things organized and cohesive. It takes me about 2-3 hours to get through Etsy orders, then it’s on to wedding clients!Since my surgery, I’ve incorporated daily exercise into my routine. I enjoy walking but dislike the cold so we bought a walking pad that’s taken up permanent residence in our living room. I walk 1-2 miles a day while watching a tv show and hardly notice I’m working out. Best investment ever!After my midday workout, it’s back to work for a bit before I play with the pups, get the girls off the bus and snuggle up for the 5 o’clock news!

Our Story

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, but my design studio is the place I call home. My well-laid plans to use my Communications and Rhetorical Studies and Multimedia degree for a career in advertising were derailed by my love of art and design. Blush Paper Co. was founded in 2007. Even after all these years, I still fawn over textured paper, hand-dyed ribbon, and foil lettering.

Along with watercoloring and illustrating, I’ve also fine-tuned the art of storytelling. I meet with couples to learn their unique love story. I want to know about your family’s time-honored traditions and your love for classic design. I specialize in weaving those very personal details into each piece of your wedding stationery. I want your invitation suite to create an unforgettable first impression for your guests and to become a beloved heirloom for your grandchildren.

My husband Ben and I are still adding new adventures to our own love story, and our two girls have been the best chapters yet.
