This recording from a wedding guest is priceless. It’s so amusing when kids and teens today don’t recognize a rotary phone. It’s a reality that saddens me as the generation that used these phones is fading away. I see people selling them for next to nothing because nobody wants them anymore. But there are a few things I love most about these phones:
1. The memories they hold, like talking to your date in the kitchen with everyone around as the phone was mounted to the wall. Though, I recently heard you could buy a much longer cord for privacy! lol.
2. Life was simpler without TikTok or social media. There was no constant comparison, missed moments with loved ones due to endless scrolling, or pressure to impress others. I wish we could go back to those times. 🥺
3. I love the nostalgia that they evoke at weddings. People appreciate seeing them, as they bring back memories of their grandparents and childhood.

I realized there are people who could benefit from it more than I could—those who may not have family visiting for Easter, or perhaps don’t have family at all. It’s a small gesture, but it’s about spreading love and smiles to those who may be struggling or feeling lonely.
The message here is simple: whenever you can, lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. You never know the impact it could have on someone’s life. Walking away from the facility, knowing the flowers would bring happiness to someone’s day, was incredibly fulfilling. A simple act of kindness can truly make a difference.
