There's no bigger honor for a fake baker than to walk into one of her favorite cafes and see her art displayed everywhere π₯Ήππ«Άβ€οΈ in North Hollywood, CA became a place of calm and creativity quickly after I discovered it a few years ago.
With a dozen flavors of scrumptious pies always on tap and live folk music 3 nights a week (used to be every night, which I miss), I made this a special destination to work on my fake food and indulge in the atmosphere that this place so masterfully created.
Last year, I made them this custom pumpkin pie as a thank you. I had no idea if they'd display it anywhere, let alone receive it. But after they saw it, they embraced my art form and purchased multiple of my pies to decorate their already adorable cafe, most of these pictures you see right up front on top of their pie slice display.
I can't express what a unique honor it is as an artist in the vast and drowning sea of Hollywood to have made this kind of mark in my community that I love so dear.
If you're ever looking for the most wonderful slice of pie or a place to listen to groundbreaking folk music as you type out your next screenplay, grab a seat at Republic of Pie. And say hi to me trimming the edges of my fake food over my favorite chicken avocado salad and coconut cream slice.
