I cannot wait to get these printed and framed, and hung on the wall.

I had one goal while on vacation this week, and it was to make one or two photos of my wife and daughter. Mission accomplished and my heart is full. I can’t wait for the next month and a half that includes a wedding for a ski patrol friend, portraits, a portrait album delivery for a new mom, and photographing amazing people as they carry a flag from Ground Zero to Arlington.

What a whirlwind of a weekend covering the Hardrock100 for the first time. Early mornings, late nights, “sleep when you can” but really that just means your laying there tossing as you think about the next photo- watching Ludovic pommeret Trail and Courtney Dauwalter break records, and the rest of the field fight through throat and nose burning smoke, very hot temps, and all that goes along with one of the hardest runs in the country, was beyond inspiring. Way to go Daniel Ryan I’m so stoked for you dude. Glad I was there to see it happen. I’m beyond tired, but my heart is filled with joy at serving this community and race organization. See you next year and can’t wait to make more photos with Travis McWhorter and Amanda McWhorter

What a great night of orienteering with during the Frick Park Trail Race Series on Wednesday night. Great work by all the competitors who raced through the park searching for as many flags as they could find! Be sure to sign up for the final race of the series next Wednesday!

When was the last time you and your partner stepped away for a few days with zero distractions, just the two of you?

For us, it had been far too long. Sure, we’ve done quick overnights, always prioritize family vacations, and even trips as a couple, but with just the two of us, they are usually squeezed into a work trip.

This time was different. On a whim, we looked at Google flights, based on dates and price picked a destination left it all behind and settled into a slower rhythm, just being together, exploring side by side. Venice felt like a dream: incredible food, stunning views, and no real agenda beyond enjoying each other’s company.

Now that the travel bug has bitten us again, we’re already wondering where we’ll go next, as a couple, and as a family.

I remember once saying to keep dating your spouse long after you’re married. That stuck with me, and it’s something I hope we never stop doing.

Before the fish is brought to net, its early mornings, long hikes, tired shoulders.
