Hello All,

We're into December and we have the club all decked out for the holiday season with lights, trees, poinsettias, trains, Matthew dressed like an elf, the whole nine yards! Come on in and check in out or come to one of the several events we have going on before the holiday break. Upcoming events include:

First Friday is happening this week on the 5th. We're trying to have a networking component, too, to make the event even more popular.

Thursday, December 11th we'll be hosting a winter wine market from 5-8pm. Stop by and sample some wines and pick some out for gift giving this holiday season.

Friday, December 12th will be a Penn Ivy+ Innovation Forum event featuring presenter Chris Fedishen. Chris Fedishen is the owner/operator of eWaste LLC, a leading ITAD and electronics recycling company committed to responsible and secure technology disposition.

We just added an artists' holiday market that will take place on Thursday, December 18th. Several local artists will have works on display and available for sale here that evening. Come enjoy a glass of wine, check out the works, enjoy the holiday decorations, that sort of thing.

The club's holiday dinner is happening on Monday, December 22nd. I need to know by close of business on December 14th if you plan on attending as I have to secure the food count. Last year's event went very well and it appears we're going to have more folks take part this year. Why not join in on the fun? The cost is $85 per person plus the club service charge. Coming up in January we have a First Friday event but we'll also be having what should be two other, super fun events. First will be the winter edition of the make your own cocktail night. This is open to only club members and their guests and is happening on Friday, January 9th. If you want to participate, please email [email protected] so I can sign you up. Next we're having an evening where members learn to make their own pasta! Club member and certified paison, Nolan Sulpizfo, will lead folks on a journey to making their own delicious pasta! This event is happening on Friday, January 16th.

To summarize, lots of stuff coming up soon, book your holiday dinner reservation, consider coming to some other events, etc. etc..

Hello All,

Happy Thanksgiving! The club will close this evening and reopen on Monday, December 1st at 2pm.

New contest alert! One lucky member will win a Thanksgiving Day visit from me, my wife, and children Juliet (8), Nolan (6), and Lillian (4)! You don't have to do anything. We're just going to show up at one, lucky, random member's door tomorrow! So, be prepared as we'll come hungry. Oh yeah, we'll bring our two rambunctious dogs, too! 😆

Two events coming up are coming up in December I wanted to put on your radar. The Pittsburgh Committe on Foreign Relations is having a presentation here on December 9th. On the Clubster Events page you can find registration info. I'll try to get it up on our website asap, too.

We will also be having an artists' market here at the club on Thursday, December 18th. I'm still figuring out the specific details, but it appears we'll have four different artists displaying their work. Things should start at 4pm and run until 8pm that night. Make plans to come on down!

Lastly, we're in the process of getting the club all decked out for the Christmas season. There's still some detailing to go, but the attached photos will let you know where we are thus far with decorating. Come on down and check it out, have a glass of wine, sing a carol, wassail, whatever floats your boat. Also, if you have any Christmas decorations you're looking to get rid of, I'll put them to use here. Lights, Christmas villages, tabletop deco, etc., etc... Let me know [email protected]

Upcoming events this winter here at the AHYP Club!

Hello All,

This is a general update of things that are happening soon, and some that are somewhat down the pike. It can't hurt to get them onto your calendar now, however! Links and additional information on all of these and more events can be found on our website www.alleghenyhypclub.com

Tomorrow is our members' lunch for November. I still needs participants! Send me an email ASAP if interested.

We'll have the place all decked out for the holiday season in time for our First Friday & Networking event on Friday, December 5th. Come on down and enjoy the delightful surroundings and a tasty drink.

NEW DATE December the 11th will see the return of the Holiday Winter Wine Market. Come on down and sample some wines and figure out which ones you want to gift for Christmas, and which ones you may want to keep all to yourself. This event runs 5-8pm that evening.

The club's big holiday dinner is happening on Monday, December 22nd. Plan on being here for a great dinner and fun with fellow club members.

In the new year we'll have no shortage of things to do. First Friday will be happening along with a couple of other notable events already "on the books", so to speak. These include:

Craft Your Own Cocktail Winter Edition on Friday, January 9th. Learn how to make three cocktails like a real pro!

Members' Make Your Own Pasta Night. Nolan Supizfo will lead the class on how to make traditional angel hair pasta! It should be both fun, tasty, and (probably) messy!

Our Pittsburgh History Series continues with Bob Stakeley of the Heinz History Center as he discusses the wonderful history or Kaufmann's former flagship, downtown store. This will be happening on Thursday, January 22nd.

It's never too early to start planning your Valentine's Day. The club will be having a dessert and music event on the big day, Saturday, February 14th. Enjoy delectable desserts and fine, live, music that evening.

February 20th will be our next wine tasting event. The last one was tons of fun and you can't beat a nice glass (or two or three...) of red wine on a cold February night.

This is everything for the moment. There will likely be a couple of additions in the coming days/weeks and I'll let you know when those pop up.
