Hello All,
Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and season greetings! Just some updates before we head into our holiday break here.
As mentioned in the last post, the Flashlight Factories lofts has partnered with us to be a preferred lodging partner. To receive a discount from the typical Air B&B rate, contact me and I'll put you in touch with the loft's owner.
Today is the club holiday party & dinner. Shame on you for six weeks if you skipped out on this one. There's going to be spiked eggnog, delicious appetizers and a great buffet. I understand that if we're lucky, former club president Wes Posvar, may even serenade us with some carols!
Our friends The Harvard Club of Western Pennsylvania and All-Ivy-Plus gang are presenting a lecture here on Tuesday, January 28th at 5:15pm. It's entitled The Future of Pittsburgh Architecture. I've attached a flyer with all the details. Please note however, registration will close January 18th, not the 23rd as stated on the form. I need to get the catering settled well ahead of the event.
The club will be closed December 21st through the 1st of January. We will reopen on January 2nd at 2pm. We will also be open January 3rd, which will be our First Friday event as well. Come down and have a drink! You're going to want to escape that family holiday togetherness by then, I'm sure!
Coming in February will be a murder mystery dinner night. Circle your calendars for Friday, February 28th. I'll have more details soon but we'll have dinner and then the show. Let people know, bring a group, as it's sure to be a fun evening!
Way down the road, after the snow is gone and winter is but a memory, on May 3rd, we plan on hosting a Kentucky Derby watch party here at the club. Men, dust off those Levine hats and women, find a lovely fascinator to don. Or hey, it's 2024, men can wear a fascinator if they so choose! After a few mint juleps, it won't matter.
Have a great holiday season,
-Dave
