Pittsburgh Music Academy We offer instrument instruction in violin, viola, cello, flute, guitar, and piano. All of our faculty is highly trained, many specializing in the Suzuki Method.

We provide private and group instruction on violin, viola, cello, guitar, bass, piano and flute. The age of our students range from about 3 years old to adult. We take enrollment year round. We provide many opportunities for our students to play out in the community.

Meet new violin teacher, Ruan Carlo! ⭐️

Ruan is a Brazilian born violinist who earned his bachelors degree in music education at the Federal University of Paraná in Curitiba. After graduating, Ruan came to Pittsburgh to study under the tutelage of Charles Stegeman in the Master’s in Violin Performance program at Duquesne University.

Ruan has performed with several orchestras in Brazil, and spent time teaching at SCAR Theater Music School where he taught group and private lessons. He is certified in Suzuki Units book 1-8 (amazing!!) and is ready to take on students of all ages.

Ruan is a passionate teacher and hopes to nurture the love of music in all of his students. He will be teaching our Violin Group Books 1-4 at Greentree this fall! Visit our website to read his full bio and sig up for lessons!

Meet our new Suzuki Bass teacher, Henry Samuels! ⭐️

Henry is an active solo, chamber, and orchestral musician who performs with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Akron Symphony, and the Mansfield Symphony.

He has been teaching double bass for over 10’years and is Suzuki Certified Units 1-5! Currently he is working as a coach for the prestigious public school orchestra programs in Lakewood and Strongville Schools in Northeast OH. He also recently won the Principle Bass Position with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.

He has a bachelors in music from Boston University and his Professional Studies Certificate from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is currently studying at CMU, working towards his Advanced Music Studies Certificate.
