My Classroom
Many of you don't know this about me, but I am a high school science teacher in Pittsburgh Charter Schools. Today, I went back to cleanup my classroom. Looking at my desk, the half drunk cup of coffee, the unchanged date of the calendar, ungraded assignments, empty halls... broke my heart. My message to my hardworking students is this: I'm sorry you saved up for dresses and suits and didn't get a prom. I am sorry you worked hard to be where you are, that some of you were the first one in your families to come this far, and didn't get to celebrate. I'm sorry that your senior celebrations were cut short. But here's my promise to you, after this is all said and done, my team and I will plan, design and decorate a belated party for you, those of you still in touch with me, you know this was my plan from the getgo. We will have a prom and graduation celebration for you, a suit and tie affair, on the house. I love all of you and thank you for affording me the opportunity to learn from you while being your teacher! I miss you, as all your other teachers do, too.

We embellished the sweat heart and welcome tables with little bits of the room, tying the space in together. The hydrangeas, calla lillies, Roses, fern, eucalyptus, and babys breath from the bridal and maids' bouquets were repeated in the ballroom to give the entire day a full circle theme.
