Last week, & of & sat down with from the and shared their views on the new reality of the hospitality industry.

—Full-service restaurants require more significant investment in labor and more staff in general. And that’s a challenge with so many new or newer hospitality industry employees.

“It’s completely from the ground up. You’re starting from the basics in a lot of places, especially new ones. So you have to put a pretty big focus on getting back to technique and consistency,” says Usher, co-owner of St. Clair Social and Mindful Hospitality.

“Training takes time and means slowing down. And that’s the last thing people want to do after not being at full capacity for two years and still dealing with fluctuating food costs,” he adds. —

This past Monday we celebrated the announcement of Singani being declared it’s own spirit category [‼️] with TWO events. We had an awesome squad join us at Arsenal Lanes where the top two scorers won Steven Soderberg autographed bowling jerseys. Then we had little late night party with a Singani Cocktail Menu takeover and SLAYING with the vibes.

Thanks to everyone who came out! As always, we had a blast sipping on the National Spirit of Bolivia with you!

Hey All! Cat & Cecil here - Just dropping into say 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽 - it’s been a crazy summer! Here’s a little bit of what we’ve been up to!

🔺We execute our largest event yet for Mayor Ed Gainey’s Inauguration Celebration with over 800 people in attendance, 5 bars, 11 bartenders and 2 managers. In was definitely a night to remember!
🔺We hosted a beautiful 200 person wedding at Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens in July
🔺We led a beautiful outdoor intimate classic tiki cocktail class at a private home
🔺We had yet another, Duolingo Happy Hour but this time in their BRAND NEW OFFICE SPACE
🔺We took a month off from events to focus on growing the events business which has been slowly taking on a new life and we’re so excited to share with our already existing clients our new event planning software that’s going to streamline so much!
🔺We launched a new summer cocktail menu at Emerson’s and have helped grow that staff into a well oiled, hospitality-forward machine
🔺We premiered a new line of summer margaritas featured at all six Emiliano’s locations around the city
🔺We tasted 4 new amazing Singani cocktails created by some of the most fantastic bartenders in this city [cc: Muddy Waters Oyster Bar, Mediterra Cafè, Emerson’s & Bar Botanico!]
🔺We celebrated our baby, St. Clair Social’s 2 Year Anniversary by hosting 8 events in 6 days
🔺We’ve been working diligently on the bar program for the highly anticipated opening of The Parlor, Pittsburgh’s first, true Dim Sum & Cantonese BBQ restaurant
🔺We had the opportunity to host the bars for the August Wilson House Grand Opening Celebration and got to see/listen to Denzel Washington speak!
🔺We planned and helped host a backyard tiki-themed Garden Party for Pittsburgh Opera Donors

AND WE’RE NOT SLOWING DOWN and we can’t wait to share what all this Fall has in store for us and for you Pittsburgh!

So many of the events we collaborate on are for private clients so we’re extra excited to announce this event that YOU ALL ARE INVITED TO!

Our restaurant, St. Clair Social, is hosting a private ticketed 5-course Teöegs Beer dinner with pairings this Thursday from 5-8 pm.

Chef has put together a seriously 🔥 menu that has us drooling.

Tickets are $80 and include 5 courses with beer pairings, welcome cocktail and Tröegs swag! The Tröegs team will be in attendance to walk you through some of their amazing beers that inspired this dinner.
