So, in general we always encourage our couples to let their photographer, who they have theoretically specifically chosen because they love their end product, to really do their thing, artistically speaking, on the wedding day. However, if you have a list of a handful (like, no more than 5) specific photos you've seen (like this under the veil shot) that you LOVE, let them know! Just keep in mind that it can very tough for your photo team to guarantee every single shot you request (it's a crazy day!), so trust in your photographer and get you a planner to keep everyone on track!

Admittedly, blue is NOT my favorite color. Or even close to the top of the list, tbh. But if it's yours, WE'RE IN! For Emma + Jared's ceremony we used pipe and drape, uplighting, carpet runners and florals to completely transform their pale yellow and dark red space into something that matched their vibe. What do you think?!

Just a moment for this gorgeous bouquet from . Blue is a tough color (pretty much the toughest) to work with when it comes to florals because there are like 6 naturally blue floral varieties, but these guys knocked it out of the park!

In over ten years of weddings, we have literally only done three March weddings. This one is our favorite! You can't really tell, but this photo was taken on a windy beach in Stone Harbor, NJ. Even those gray skies can be beautiful - just make sure you bring your fur!

The wonderful thing about such a unique and fun venue like Philly's Magic Gardens is you don't need to do anything crazy with decor. For this event, we stayed pretty minimal with a light peachy pink linen and a mix of bud vases to compliment the eclectic look of the space.

Even if you're getting married in a colder month we want to try to get outdoor photos still! Here's some tips and tricks to make it happen!

- Keep in mind that the sun will set earlier (more of a reason to do a first look before your ceremony) and plan accordingly.

- Make sure you have some sort of jacket/fur/shawl to wear, even if you only wear it between shots. Don't forget about wedding party as well, if those photos will be outdoors.

- Be strategic about how far you're planning to walk between locations, if applicable. If it's cold AND windy, you're gonna be hating it!

- Think about just doing some photos outside and others inside. It's typically better to do couples portraits outside and keep family inside. Grandma will thank you!

- Always have an indoor backup option!

To be honest, we quite frequently see couples finishing up vows or letters on the day of the wedding and that's totally ok! Of course, we don't want this to be a cause of stress day-of, so we do always advise our couples to start on things like your vows and ceremony script earlier as opposed to later; however, our timelines are always buffered so no worries about not having a few extra minutes. Taking a moment to yourself to tap into how you're feeling that day can be a welcome break in what is typically an action packed day.

We always recommend a first look (or something similar) before your ceremony and here's why!

- It frees up your timeline because we don't have to scrunch ALL photos into 1 hour during Cocktails (which really isn't realistic).

- It gets some of the jitters and nervousness out of the way before you have to be in front of 100+ people. That way, you guys can spend the time before the ceremony together and with all your favorite people.

- It's a moment with just the two of you, something that can be hard to find on your wedding day, where you can truly be present and just take in everything.

- It's an opportunity to exchange gifts or read private vows to just each other if you'd prefer not to do that in front of everyone you know.

- Better photo opportunities! Your photographer has options for where this takes place and so isn't confined to your ceremony space. This also means multiple angles are more easily accomplished.

That just married feeling! So, your ceremony can be (well, is pretty much guaranteed to be) an intense moment full of anticipation and emotion. Especially if you're a person who easily gets anxious or nervous, think about scheduling in some alone time right before the ceremony to breathe.

We also always recommend a moment alone for you and your partner immediately after the ceremony, if possible! This gives you an opportunity to experience all the emotions, breathe, take in the roller-coaster of emotions surrounding what just transpired, and share some champ and bites together!

Not something we do often, but if super pink and super feminine is what you're looking for, we're here for it! This client already had her florist and floral design chosen before she brought us on, but we worked with her to complete the vision for her guest tables. Here's what we provided for just this room!

- personalized thank you cards for each seat (the wax seal color indicated entree selection!)

We provided all the things for this summer wedding! Whatever you do, don't forget shade and water for your guests if you're getting married in June, July or August! Oh, and a plan B if it's going to be over 90 degrees or so 🥵

Horas make for some of my favorite wedding moment and photos, but man do I always stress about:
- making sure we have armed chairs so you can hold on!
- low ceilings and head trauma
- people falling off chairs
- people dropping chairs

So much fun though! I think we should do the hora at all weddings, Jewish or not!

One thing you might not have thought about if you're just beginning the search for your wedding venue is locations for photo opportunities! Of course you need to love the spaces where your actual event will be taking place, but keep in mind we will also need to think about locations for larger family photos, wedding party photos, and couples portraits! Your photographer will ultimately decide what spaces are the best day-of based on things like space, logistics and lighting, but with our Wedding Weekend Package, we'll also chat through these details with you ahead of time to make sure you feel good about the options!

What are your thoughts on faux florals for weddings? To be honest, in photos like this one, you really can't even tell they're not real! Here are some of our pros + cons if you're considering this option!

Pros:
- less expensive than fresh florals
- lighter to carry
- you don't have to stress about seeing thousands of dollars in florals go in the trash the next day
- less waste
- don't have to worry about supply chains, fluctuating florals costs, or seasonality

Cons:
- limited options, colors and customization opportunities
- not great for close up or detail shots
- if you're renting from a company that ships, these often come in HUGE boxes that can be tough to transport to and from your wedding
- cannot be preserved or dried as a keepsake
- they don't smell as nice

Overall, we LOVE fresh florals and the creativity they can allow, but we think renting or using faux florals for bouquets could be a great option for some couples! If this might be something you're interested in, we'd suggest also mixing in real florals for certain things if possible. Items like centerpieces, where guests are right in front of them for an extended period of time, will be more obvious if completely faux.

Tented weddings, aesthetically speaking, are hands down some of our favorites. Logistically, these can be a beast! Trust us, if you plan on erecting your own venue from the ground up, get you an experienced planner! There are SO many things to think about that don't come into play with other types of venues. You don't know what you don't know and that's where we come in!

Always ask your florist for some extra blooms for detail photos! Some florists will throw these in free of charge, but I've seen them range from $15 - $60 depending on the florist, quantity and flower varieties. Once you've made sure you've got the pretty blooms coming (before the photographer arrives), make sure you've scheduled in enough time for your photographer to play around a little with the styling of these florals with all your detail items. We recommend at least 30 - 45 minutes for detail photos.

After countless weddings on the beaches of Florida and Delaware, sharing some beach weddings tips! Even if you're getting married on a lakeshore, these will come in handy!

- I wouldn't worry about shoes for anyone, really. They're only going to make it harder to walk on sand and get full of sand anyway!

- Please provide umbrellas (or some other kind of shade) and water for your guests if you're on the beach in the summer! Sunglasses are great too! Don't forget a trash can for empty water bottles : )

- Be prepared for wind, especially as it relates to florals and sound

- Carefully consider ceremony location and the time of day for your ceremony. In Delaware, for instance, the sun won't be setting behind you, but on the West Coast of Florida, it will be! We'll help with this for sure!

- Try to keep everything closer to walkways and boardwalks, if possible. This is especially important for older or handicapped guests. You might need to rent a few beach wheelchairs!

If you're using some sort of transportation for your wedding party, make sure you save a few extra seats for us and your photographer! Even though your ride might be quick and just a go-between from church to venue, the fun moments and laughs that happen are some of my favorite and should be captured!
