A friend and neighbor shared this photo with us showing Lockhart Street looking East towards the Heinz plant. Looks circa 1930's, and note the onion domes are still capping the bell towers of what's now our Grand Hall. We've never seen this view before.

We were proud to host the farewell brunch of the quadrennial North American Swiss Singers convention. The concert competition featured singing societies from throughout the United States and Canada, including one group from Vancouver!
Pittsburgh attractions and festivals have scored very well in national rankings, especially the Barrel and Flow beer festival and Heinz History Center. Congrats to our many attractions and festivals!

Pittsburgh has lost a local North Side friend and legend. For decades, Gus Kalaris served up ice balls with homemade syrups, popcorn, and fun at his famous and beloved Gus & YiaYia’s Cart. This year was the 90th year for Gus' popular iceball stand, which his parents opened in 1934 and he took over in 1951. We send our best wishes and prayers for Gus' kind, sweet soul and sincere condolences to his family and friends. The sun shone a little less brightly today on our North Side as we said goodbye and rest in peace to a wonderful man.
I am incredibly proud of and thankful to our teams at the Priory Hotel and at the Mansions on Fifth Hotel. The readers of Pittsburgh Magazine voted the Priory as the Best of the Burgh in the boutique hotel category, and the Mansions on Fifth as Best in the bed and breakfast category (though it's not a bed and breakfast, as a wise man once said, "A win's a win!" )

A hearty and well deserved congratulations to our General Manager, Rebecca Lazeration (center), who was named the 2023-24 General Manager of the Year at the Greater Pittsburgh Hotel Association's Hospitality Stars of Excellence presentation. She beat out the GM's of several of the excellent nationally flagged downtown hotels for the honor. Rebecca's devotion to guest and client service is unparalleled, and we thank her for her hard work and commitment to Excellence! Joining Rebecca in the photo is Director of Events Jen Halajcio and Director of Facilities Giuseppe Provenza.

The Priory Hotel and Grand Hall at the Priory are a 42 room boutique hotel, located in a former monastery, and a large (350 guest capacity) event and meeting venue which had been transformed from a Catholic Church. Family owned and operated for nearly 40 years, despite a lack of any national brand affiliation, the Priory has become a hospitality institution in Pittsburgh.
