Selecting the right venue can be both time consuming and a bit frustrating, but it is absolutely vital to the success of your event. While the location and food/beverages are very important – its really the atmosphere that comes in to play, making your event a rounding success. Is it cheery, airy, & bright? Does the establishment do all they can to make your guests happy and satisfied that their needs are being met? Take the time to get to know your on-site event coordinator, ask questions, ask advice on what other parties have done… The best events happen not by accident, but by planning, thinking outside the box, and trusting your venue so you can relax knowing that its in good hands.

So, we had this beautiful wedding at Neutral Ground on the Canal last week, and one of the most amazing things we were able to pull off for the families of the bride & groom - from Sri Lanka, Italy, and Australia - and they were all able to watch the entire event from their countries via our internet connection, large screen TV, and Zoom. How amazing it was to see their parents watch the ceremony from across the globe.

Need a place to host a meeting, training class, seminar, a big card game with your closest friends? We have the perfect spot right on the canal in Pittsford (town), New York! The room can be set up anyway you like, we have a big screen TV for zooming, and great coffee and catering! We were happy to host the steering committee from Visit Rochester recently, and look forward to hosting your offsite event!

We feel so honored to have hosted a wedding and small reception this past weekend, it was absolutely beautiful and the guests absolutely loved the space. Family from all over the world zoomed in to watch the couple exchange vows!

Neutral Ground on the Canal even in the winter is so pretty. A bridal party, baby shower, reunion, birthday party - all would be so lovely here. Just image how pretty it will be in the spring & summer! Can't wait to see you!!

My name is Sherry Grugel, and I am the new Event Coordinator for Neutral Ground on the Canal. I am excited to be able to post cool stuff about Neutral Ground on the Canal and can't wait to share!

To clear up any confusion - what the heck is Neutral Ground on the Canal, if there is already a Neutral Ground Coffeehouse?? Well, once you come in and see for yourself, you'll completely understand, but in a nutshell - we divided the building in two halves - one is the coffeehouse which has a coffee bar, ice cream, breakfast, lunch, and pastries, as well as great music and awesome customers!

Neutral Ground on the Canal (the other side of the big barn door) is a beautiful 50 seat venue which folks can rent for any sort of a party they would like. We gave it a separate name (who wants to say they got married in a coffeeshop?) so that it has its own distinct personality.

I'll be filling you in on all the amenities and creative ideas we put into this event space over the next few posts. Suffice it to say, we are thrilled to be a new addition to Pittsford!
