Welcome to the Placentia Round Table Women's Club. Our organization is a nonprofit philanthropic organization committed to serving our community. We meet the first Wednesday of the month October - June from 9:00am - 2pm. Lunch is available for purchase. Go to or Club web page for more information and membership information. We hope you will join us for lunch! New members always welcomed. The club

sponsors a variety of exciting fundraising events each year. Beginning in October, the club sells soup mix packages. Members gather to assemble soup mix and packages them for sale at various holiday boutiques/craft fairs in the area. In November the Club hosts Festival of the Trees. This event is a fun luncheon with beautifully decorated tree raffles and silent auction! Visit our Flickr page for pictures of this and other great Club events! Some of the local groups that receive gifts, money, or grants from these fundraisers are Christmas Clearing Bureau (which we founded); Boys and Girls Club; Homeless Intervention Shelter (H.I.S. House), and The Women's Transitional Living Center. In addition, the Placentia Round Table supports other community organizations such as the library, local fire and police departments, the Chamber of Commerce, and Founders Society with grants, equipment, and volunteer hours. Our Club also has a program which supplies needy children with jackets and shoes. We give many scholarships to local high school students. And we love our Veterans. There is a fun side to the Round Table, too. The Club offers a variety of Sections that provide activities for the club members from Bunco to a gourmet group. Gadabouts enjoy touring sites and attending plays. The Craft and Stitches group meets monthly often working on projects to donate to worthy causes. Bookworms love reviewing current books and the Mah Jong ladies have a great time placing those tiles. In the spirit of Christmas, the women of the Placentia Round Table were able to help donate $200. to the City of Placentia’s outreach program, ”The Community Christmas Basket”, which distributes food and toys during this season of hope to make a child’s Christmas a little brighter.

In addition, we also collected unwrapped toys for Melrose Elementary School children in need and food to help stock the blessing boxes in and around town. We are busy ladies and today was our monthly meeting where we were honored to have the students from Valencia High School sing for us!

It was truly a beautiful day filled with the spirit of giving!

We just received sad news that our dearest, oldest, longest, most beloved member, Jeanne Christensen, of 97 years old and a member of our club for 74 years just passed away this week.

Jeanne who was a past President from 1965-1967 and again in 1979 -1980 helped with the purchase of the land and development of our current clubhouse in 1967.

We stand strong today because of women like Jeanne who have tirelessly volunteered and generously gave their time for the benefit of others.

Jeanne who was loved by all will definitely be missed. She is pictured here with her dear friend Nancy Solesbee in July celebrating her 97th birthday.

Here’s a taste of the beautiful trees that were won today by guests who attended our 37th annual Festival of Trees. Each tree is designed and lovingly decorated by members of our club with a special theme in mind.

Our annual event today was held at the gorgeous hotel -Hyatt Regency in Garden Grove and was a sold-out event.

This month we helped donate funds to the Veterans House of Orange County and our members purchased and packed up several Thanksgiving Dinners for Patriots and Paws, a nonprofit organization that also helps veterans.

Being a good neighbor is our way of giving back to our community. Here is some of the homemade handy work from previous years made by Jo Ann Sowards, who is this year’s Chair for the upcoming Festival of Trees to be held on November 18th.

JoAnn says she loves helping to decorate trees for this annual event - sponsored by the Placentia Round Table Women's Club - Events & News. Proceeds help distribute funds for scholarships to graduating seniors of PYLUSD, the veterans, meals on wheels, are just to name a few.

Volunteering helps local charities across the country in big and small ways! If you would like to be a member of this great community organization that loves to give back!

Welcome Back!

The ladies of the Placentia Round Table celebrated their first meeting of our new year in style by wearing our Hawaiian attire to honor all the families and homes lost in the recent Lahaina fires.

Today we collected over a thousand dollars and it was also recommended that the club match the donation collected (dollar for dollar) to help support the survivors!

Please consider joining us in remembering these families and the missing, unaccounted children in your thoughts and prayers.
