In February when I began this journey into entrepreneurship I had big goals in mind, drive, lots of ambition, but also a tad bit of fear. Fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of the unknown.

As the months past and my business began to grow more and more, I then realized the only thing that was holding me back was me! Once I stepped out of my own way, doors opened that I never anticipated, clients came from everywhere and 2022 blew up! I planned my first Indian wedding and learned so much about Hindu culture, planned my first same s*x wedding, which helped me change my language and become so much more inclusive and also planned my third event in Baltimore, MD! In total, I planned 10 full service weddings and events this year!

As I'm closing in on my first year as a full time entrepreneur, I look back at 2022 and thank God for all that has changed and helped me grow in business and
I'm ready for all that 2023 has to offer!
I'm starting off 2023 with a bang!🥂🎉

Feeling blue...💙

For your tablescape, textures and patterns don't necessarily have to match if you do it the right way. Color match or compliment is a must, but don't be afraid to test out different patterns and textures on linens, plates, napkins, chargers and/or vases! Once you've found what works, pull together some candles/ holders and beautiful floral centerpieces to complete your look.... fabulous darling!!!⁣

Good morning and Happy Sunday!! With Thanksgiving coming up this week, I'm taking time to think about every thing I'm thankful for. There's so many and so much to be thankful for but here's the top 3 for me:

1. Feb. 2022 - Leaving my corporate job any becoming full time doing what I love... wedding and event planning!
2. March 2022 - My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It had also made it to her brain. She's kicking cancer's ass!!! With treatment, prayers and God's healing, the 2 masses that were in her brain are gone and the lesions in her lungs are so small. She's on her way to being 100% cancer free!!! My mom will be 70 on November 29th! We're grateful she's here to celebrate her milestone!
3. My family - my husband ( ) and children! We're all happy, healthy and loving on each other. I couldn't ask for better!

2022 has had its challenges but more triumphs to celebrate and be thankful for.

I'm a firm believer of the saying "if you don't have a seat at the table, make your own table."

However, lately I've been invited to some amazing tables! I've been invited to tables, feeling like a fish out of water and sat down with the thought of "I don't belong here." But God doesn't always call those that are qualified, he qualifies those that are called. From the way it's looking, my qualifications are about to open doors that no one can shut... that my mindset now is I belong at any table I sit at.

In 2011, when I first started in the event industry, I had no clue what it took to really run a successful business. I jumped head first and fell flat on my face. I had no education on the industry, no relationships, no mentor, no coaching..I was flying by the seat of my pants going nowhere fast! Needless to say, I stopped planning and went back to corporate America. ⁣
However, when this is what you were meant to do, that still small voice never goes away.⁣
⁣
In 2016 I changed my business name to rebranded and re-launched in 2017. In the last five years, I've figured out who I am in this business and what I really want. I've learned and am still learning from the best there is and associating myself with those that are where I want to be! I'm a force to be reckoned with and there's no one that can tell me I don't belong here. ⁣

This year has been filled with lots of personal and professional ups, downs and in betweens and the year is not over yet. Confusion, overwhelm and discouragement just to name a few of the emotions I've felt. It seemed like every week I was starting over from the beginning pressing the reset button... resetting my mind - thoughts, work ethic, goals and going nowhere and starting over the next week.

I asked God, "How many times can I set the reset button."? This quote sang to my spirit this morning.

"RESET, READJUST, RESTART, REFOCUS AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED TO. JUST DON'T GIVE UP." - Unknown
