It’s not until the Film & Vinyl Designs has their holiday party! The food is hot and the cocktails are chilled in with !🐓🥒

Raffle prizes are dressed in their best paper and bows 🎁 and the yearly scavenger hunt items are hidden in plain sight for guests to find. We thought the aka was a perfect match for guests to find while enjoying dinner, drinks and playing . 🏓💚

Getting the opportunity to work side by side with real florists and watching the chaos that follows a floating order opens your eyes to the behind the scenes.

Here is one example of how an order gatherer company can affect you. So you place a Mother’s Day order for someone and maybe they live in a big area or even a small town, but the website you ordered from says they deliver to that area. You’re ordering ahead of time on Friday for a Mother’s Day delivery on Sunday. Not all but many florists are closed on Sunday so they’ll do their Sunday deliveries on Saturday. Once the order gatherers have taken their large commission chunk, there may not be enough value left in the order for florist to create the intended design along with delivery. This then causes the florist to “pass” on that order, and thus the order floats along to another florist.

Friday has past, and now we are on Saturday. Sometimes the order gatherers will give up a little of their money to ensure that this order gets placed, but sometimes it’s still not worth it for the florist, so the order still floats along. Sunday rolls around and the order is not delivered, and the client is super mad and the recipient is disappointed.

The real deception happens when the order gatherers go into the original order, change the type of order it is, so now it looks like a general flower order and instead of a specific piece it says florist choice. Meaning the florist can pick something that fills the value and looks nice. Maybe they even add a little bit more money (not all of it) to sweeten the deal and a local florist takes it as a new order. They do a beautiful job send it out for delivery.

BAM! Now the recipient has a florist to yell and scream at because they did not deliver the product at the right time and it could still not be what they originally ordered. The client ordered ahead of time, a specific date it was given, and they have no idea about what has happened behind the scenes.

Just a remind, as we approach the holiday season, we HIGHLY encourage you to use your LOCAL florist. We understand those steals and deals on the other websites looking SO good as we all try to pinch our pennies, but we promise you no good sale is going to make you feel good or your loved ones feel relieved when products go undelivered or show up frozen.

These pesty buggers have turned florist into looking bad. We promise we do our job fantastically; we are knowledgeable and have been in the flower business for many years, and can tell you, businesses such as 1800flowers, FTD, teleflora, and more, aren't what they seem.

Check out more details on them in the pictures below. When shopping online, double check that you're going directly to a known florist site. Look for PHYSCIAL addresses, and local numbers. (No 1-800 numbers.) Some of these websites will even say they deliver to areas such as Walker, MN. Let it be known there are only 2 shops in Walker. We do not accept these places orders.
