Keepin it Smokin closed out 2024 2nd place TOTY, and Chicken TOTY! What a ride 😎💯.

Lot of new things for the new year including a new BBQ cook trailer, with help of some good friends, my brother and myself worked tirelessly to complete this build in time for start of our 2025 season.

We always look forward to Butts & Clucks Cook-off On The Bay where our Pro BBQ journey all began. We were super happy with new rig, few lil things to work out with flow and process but overall cook went okay. Results as follows

Chicken 11th place
Prairie Fresh ribs 16th
fresh pork 11th
Snake River Farms 😮 brisket 1st PLACE !!

5th overall in a stacked field of 39. As always John Solomon pulls in great teams from all over its top level event in a beautiful location.

Well 2024 BBQ year is a wrap , finished our BBQ season Plant City Pig Jam our hometown competition. Results weren't great things just didn't go our way. We brought home the Plant City cup 🏆 for best overall PRO team in PC. Had a great time weather was chilly but a great change up from sweating. This was last ride for our current BBQ rig , she been great to us , it's gotten a lot of calls , 5 GCs 7 RGCs , 2 perfect scores in the FBA.

We managed an 8th place brisket call The Butcher Shoppe A9 best around. 💪

10th overall in a great field of pit masters.

Onto resuming the trailer build have it ready to start the new season late Jan.

Florida BBQ Association last competition for the 2024 FBA season is a wrap. Big Belly davenport FL. Great time cooking meat in a parking lot with great friends, being the last contest seen alot great teams in attendance. Great field of pit masters for sure. We closed 4 lids and judgement fell as follows.

8th overall

Definitely a fun season chasing an battling some great teams , who are also some great friends. One thing we will do is have a good time , good fellowship in the FBA family!

Keepin’ it Smokin’ took the drive to Panama City for Panama In Fall BBQ Brawl BBQ competition. The team there simply are fantastic. They are great organizer's they really put emphasis on taking care of the teams and we couldn't appreciate that more.

Guys an Gals fellow FBA cook teams please look at this event and put it on your calendar. We really need to support our FBA events. This one supports a tremendous cause for neglected children, it's a great competition, ran by great folks.

Our cook went fairly seamless, pretty routine and results showed as follows:

competition 2024 is in the books , we always feel "at home" here this was the 1st comp we ever cooked also the 1st comp of Camp Mack. Proud to say we've cooked everyone of them and it really is a hot spot for us. Kevin dose fantastic job thanks for everything bro.

Friday night wing / burger bash was a lot of fun hanging with everyone, sorry for the salty wings 😂😂😂. Kids Q cook was also Friday night Bentley threw down some cheese burger sliders with spooky sauce 💪 , landed him 1st place ! So proud of him glad he still enjoys cooking and wants to cook every chance he gets.

For us the cook was bit of drama filled 😂 with a sprint run to try and make pork turn in , thankfully Justin still lil young cause no way I could of made it 😂.

Another weekend another BBQ competition 😎. We took.the ride to Hart Springs in beautiful Bell Florida, amazing weather was waiting for us like a much needed drink 🥃. Had great time with our FBA gang also had some great times with our new friends and neighbors Smokin' Sweetmeats BBQ Team , made big bowl of chili broke bread had few drinks and laughs. Great trip overall.... As for the cook we battled the weather change as most pit masters know things tend cook lil different. We closed 3 confident lids and we came out as follows....

Brisket 9th our fault tad overcooked

We made the long ride to Poosa Q Wind Creek Montgomery. Fantastic contest no one rolls out red carpet quite like this one. Christi Mann and her team go above and beyond for this event. With almost 60 of the best teams from all over we held our own coming away with a top 5 overall finish, 4th overall out of 59 top teams from all around the country.

The 3rd annual QUE For A Cure is a wrap , what a weekend, we battled heat 🥵 , the rain , flooding and a stacked field of 46 PRO teams Florida BBQ Association the fastest growing event around Roni-Kay Elser she puts her heart soul and sweat into this event great job MAV.

However we didn't battle it alone , the BBQ family is the real deal team Smokin Ash littlery helped get us outta the mud an flood. Also huge thanks to everyone who offered to help, your friendships mean the world to us.

After the moving of camp at 10:30 at night the cook itself went really well. Felt good about all 4 meats turn ins were solid. We landed as follows

South Carolina Festival of Discovery 2024 is in the books. This was our 1st year competing in this event overall it's a great contest with great set up for an event. Overall we had a solid consistent cook lil rusty from a bit of a layoff since late April was our last cook.

We had a great time lil hot 🥵 but it is July , this contest brings in a lot of the best teams from all over so we felt like we held our own. Our Heath Riles BBQ products and Sweet Smoke Q products never let us down proud to represent these brands.

Bentley the youth member of Keepin’ It Smokin’ Competition BBQ team had a fantastic cook taking in 2nd place 💯💪. Way to go buddy papa super proud of you.
The meats were hamburger and bacon , so we he made a meatloaf style meatballs stuffed with jalapeno monterey jack cheese. It was so good 😊.

Keepin’ It Smokin’ Competition BBQ traveled south down to Miami for for 1st annual Pit masters Classic of Miami. The organization worked real hard to put on a event and for the most part everything went smoothly. We look forward to many more years of supporting this great event and great cause.

As for our cook it was pretty uneventful, things just flowed well , proteins seem to be in sync with us this weekend that's always a good thing. We felt we closed 4 pretty good lids. The judgement was as follows.
Chicken 🐓 8th place
Prairie Fresh Ribs 2nd place
Prairie Fresh. Pork 4th place
The Butcher Shoppe A9 brisket 3rd

Solid enough for GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP 🏆 with a super cool belt trophy, these never get old

But more than that these trophies that will get dusty an old but the friendship and the memories made at these events are the real wins.

This weekend Keepin’ It Smokin’ Competition BBQ BBQ landed in Davenport FL. For Grills Gone Wild this contest drew some great teams from all over the United States. We've been working hard on our brisket game with help from our BBQ family. Seeing some up tick in that department, sadly not so great in other categories. We grabbed a 7th place The Butcher Shoppe A9 brisket call 😎💪.

Lakeland Pigest 24' is in the books and in the past.

We had Bentley hold down the tradition of calls for Keepin’ It Smokin’ Competition BBQ. So proud of this boy he really enjoys when he can cook. He took 3rd steak , 4th chicken , 4th overall.

As for our cook we thought we turned in our normal scoring well Q. The judges had different view point this weekend. Old timers of cooking say these days will happen, today was ours. All we can do is move on try to take what we can from it.

48th out of 61 PRO teams.

We kicked off the 2024 BBQ season at one of our all time favorite competitions Butts & Clucks Cook-off On The Bay in beautiful Apalachicola FL. While the view is always unbeatable and John Solomon puts on one of the best events. The weather was bitter cold 🥶. Our cook went well the Sweet Smoke Q QDS drums ran like champs in the cold conditions. Heath Riles BBQ flavors brought home some hardware.

Our results were a bit of a tale of two half's ....

Chicken 🐔 3rd place
Prairie Fresh Ribs 4th place
Prairie Fresh Pork 24th (my fault)
The Butcher Shoppe A9 26th don't wanna talk about the table .... Move on

For a 12th overall finish out of 51 teams! Was awesome too see the place so packed with fantastic teams for the Florida BBQ Association STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

There a new 🔥 in the FBA under the new president and I can't wait to see this organization make a turn upward ⬆️. This is OUR FBA.
