During the ceremony, their dear friend performed an original aria. I struggle to put into words what a truly perfect moment it was to witness. To feel the world almost stand still, so much emotion carried in her incredible voice. The love the couple had for each other center stage, the strength and fragility of love palpable.

My mind wanders to that moment, a reminder that to be a witness to these moments is an honor. A sweet reward for being the steward of this chapter’s love story.

There is just something about a wedding at a summer camp… and this weekend from last year was no exception. This month marks the TENTH anniversary of Assorted Artistries. That’s right, a decade. So in celebration of this milestone I’m heading into February with nothing but good news! And we’re kick it off where it all began...

Assorted Artistries was born just months after my own wedding. After nearly two years of planning and 100 DIY projects, my day was still riddled with questions, family stress, and nearly no makeup—because there wasn’t another “me” to pull it all together. In true Scarlett O’Hara fashion, I vowed, “Never again!” Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to perfecting how couples plan their weddings and how Assorted Artistries brings their dreams to life.
Ten years in, I still find magic in those “getting to know you” moments—the little details of your love story that we weave into your wedding experience. I’m all about “What do you want to feel on your wedding day?” rather than “What’s your color palette?” and “What do you want your guests to remember?” over “What’s the dress code?” My designs center around creating emotional connections, and success is seeing your joy and hearing your delighted exclamations when the vision comes to life.

When couples inquire for our services we ask several questions regarding how they want to remember their wedding day. For us this question reveals so much about how they want to feel and experience this sacred day. It’s also a key piece of information we use when hand selecting their vendor team. Looking back at the moments captured the morning of S+J New Year’s Day wedding we’re reminded of the excellent vendor team we had the pleasure of working with on this magical Adirondack wedding.
