Our vineyard is looking better than it has in years. These beautiful zinfandel grape vines were planted in 1980 by my Dad Howard Kirkland. They are head pruned and dry farmed. This is the first year we don't have a buyer for this precious fruit. I realize the market is suffering, but I'm still hopeful that someone will be able to take these special grapes.

The rains have filled our pond. Plenty of fish, ducks and geese enjoy this time of year.

Visited the grave of "Wild Bill" Hickok in Deadwood, South Dakota. Sound on as Jim Giuffra pays tribute to the famous gun slinger and historic figure.

Another fire on Bell Rd here in Shenandoah Valley. It's the 2nd fire in about a month. Very scary!!!!!

We finally finished the long stretch of the Arroyo Ditch trail yesterday. With the help of Greg Briski, we power tooled our way through huge trees and massive berry bushes. Video shows how much I like rolling those big logs down into the canyon. Maybe I'm weird but it's really fun!
