About City Central

In 2016, PCDA was donated a five story building in the heart of downtown Ponca City. With the very real threat of this being being mothballed and closed by non-resident landlords, PCDA gladly accepted the property along with $200,000 and submitted an application to the federal Economic Development Administration (EDA) for a $1.275 million matching grant to renovate the basement and first floor into a large indoor/outdoor conference center, The Summit and shared workspace known as The Link. The EDA grant was accepted by PCDA in August of 2017 and renovations have commenced.

The Summit will hold 300+ people seated at tables (600 in chairs) with two breakout areas. Conferences needing more than two breakout areas will have access to the upper floors for use as well. The Summit will have sliding glass walls which open out to the landscaped, outdoor event venue. This allows conferences, meetings and family celebrations to transition easily from formal event to afterparty with a simple opening of the doors. This space is available for booking now, with a formal opening date of April 2019.

The Link, a shared workspace/collaboration center, will have room for 12 tenants at desks, 10 laptop set ups (bar style) and five office areas as well as a small conference room, coffee shop and retail pop-up areas for retailers to test product marketing, placement and development. High speed Wi-fi will be part of the day, week and monthly leases, as well as access to the conference room, collaboration areas and programs which will be held in this space. Currently, the building is hosting the Inventors-Entrepreneurs Network (IENetwork) which meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 in the building. The Link is set to open its doors in April 2019, as well.

City Central, as part of the renovations, will receive updated ADA compliant restrooms, new LED lighting fixtures and a new roof.
