To start off 2025, we'd like to re-introduce the main man behind the scenes: Chef Mark Scomo!
Chef Mark, a graduate of the Culinary Arts Academy in New Jersey, brings over 30 years of experience to Savannah Event Catering. After perfecting his skills at top country clubs and resorts in Boca Raton, he relocated to Savannah in 2004. His love for diverse cuisines like Indian, Latin, Cajun, and more inspires his custom menus that cater to every occasion. When he’s not in the kitchen, Chef Mark enjoys family time with his wife and two daughters.
He's looking forward to a year full of meeting new people and catering new events!

Earlier this week I went to go pick out fish specifically for Dominique and Andres' tasting. Well...they finally made their decision.
Pan seared tilefish with a white wine, artichoke and sun-dried tomato Abruzzi sauce.

It was a wonderful Hawaiian Themed Night at the Effingham Chamber Annual Dinner.
From humble beginnings, this husband and wife duo have grown Savannah Event Catering into one of the top catering companies in Savannah. With a combined 48 years of experience in Africa, Europe and across the United States, Hayley Scomo and Executive Chef Mark Scomo bring their love of food and wealth of knowledge to every event they do.
Hayley, studied Hotel & Hospitality Management in her home town of Cape Town South Africa where she worked at local hotels and restaurants. Her exemplary work earned her an opportunity to showcase her talent at the prestigious Lanesborough Hotel in London on the doorsteps of Buckingham Palace.
After attending the Culinary Arts Academy at Atlantic College in New Jersey, Chef Mark moved to Palm Beach, Florida where he honed his craft at lauded country clubs and hotels, including Boca West Country Club and Boca Resort, Hotel & Club.
The couple moved to Savannah in 2004, and after several years in restaurants found their niche in catering.
