Check out these unfiltered orchids and rose. The colors are so intense. These are completely dry and waiting for their significant others to finish up.

Anyone notice the gold handles in the picture? We are adding acrylic trays to our items offered at the end of the month! Brides, make sure you book early. We are already booking for 2023!!

I get asked all the time if flowers are the only thing that can be preserved. Absolutely not! So many items can be added with the flowers (or on their own) such as hair pieces, pins, pregnancy tests, hospital bracelets, and thatā€™s just to name a few that weā€™ve done.

This full set had to wait to be posted since the middle piece was a surprise. A friend lost his parents 6 weeks apart. The spent casings are from his dads funeral and the boutonniĆØre was worn at his moms. His wife saved both and had them preserved as an anniversary present.

Hi guys! Welcome (officially) to The Preserved Petal, a dream thatā€™s been in the making since 2018. I am absolutely floored at the response Iā€™ve gotten since this morning. Over the past few years my business has strictly been promoted through word of mouth, but a few months ago a friend convinced me that it was time to finally branch out more and so The Preserved Petal was ā€œbornā€. Iā€™ve gotten several messages today with questions about booking and processes so I wanted to take a second to answer the top 3 Iā€™ve had so far today. Please feel free to message me with any questions or to reserve a date. This is not a new business so I am unfortunately booked for most of September and October.

Now on to the questionsā€¦

ā“Do you only preserve memorial flowers?

No! We preserve all of lifeā€™s important moments. Memorial pieces, bridal bouquets, baby keepsakes, and so on. However, all bridal preservations must be booked at least one month in advanced. Part of the booking process includes scheduling the receiving of the flowers to ensure that the drying process is started as quickly as possible. Flowers go through A LOT on wedding day and the longer the wait to be dried the higher the risk of wilting and bruising. We do NOT take bridal bouquets that are used in the actual bouquet toss.

ā“Since events that result in memorial flowers are not preplanned, how is that handled?

Due to the last minute nature of memorial commissions, we always leave room each week. It is best to at least notify us as soon as possible that there is an event and you may want a piece created. From there we will discuss how to keep them until a decision has been made. Again, to ensure the most prime resin piece is created with the liveliest flowers, is it important to start the drying process ASAP.

ā“What is the current turnaround time?

Our current turnaround time is 12-15 weeks. Most of this time is the flower drying process. Depending on the type of flower it can take 1-5 weeks for them to fully dry. While this drying process is extensive, it is important to not rush this step as this is how flowers are kept as close to their coloring, shape, and texture as when they were fresh. After the flowers are completely dry, they are arranged, and the casting process begins. The casting process can take up to 20 hours over a course of several days as the resign has to be poured in very thin layers. Once the flowers are fully preserved, the piece must stay in the mold for 24 hours before it can be removed to ensure it is fully cured.
