People always ask me how I got started in this business. I’m sure you’ve heard this story before, but bear with me!!

I used to work at Toga's Soup House in Port Angeles. When the pandemic hit, I stopped working and was home with my kids.

The owners Toga and Lisa knew that I had been making balloon garlands for my kid’s birthdays, and they (with the PAHS Senior Parent Committee) asked if I could make an arch for the 2020 graduation ceremony.

ARCH, not garland. As in.. standing up all on its own.

I said yes, even know I had no idea how to do that! I was terrified!

I went on YouTube and learned how to make an arch, and made it happen! Not without 15 meltdowns and calling my dad to come help me set up the day of, because the arch kept falling over!!!

It was so scary, knowing that it was for GRADUATION. Not just a party at my house.

After that day and realizing that I had successfully been hired to do balloons for an important occasion… I decided to start my own business.

Since then I’ve done tons of arches (and much more) for many important events.

We have also built a custom arch that is super strong and does not fall over!!! Except in extreme wind.. don’t ask me how I know that 🙈

I wanted to share this because sometimes we don’t know what we’re capable of.

I now say yes ALL the the time even when I don’t know how I’ll make it happen!

I learned an important lesson that day:
It’s okay to be scared sometimes. Say yes. You are capable of more than you know. And… how you feel after successfully completing the task, is pretty dang fulfilling 🎈🎈

STORY TIME!

Sometimes my schedule doesn’t align with yours, but we still want to work together. I will ALWAYS do my best to make it work for you! Last week, I was leaving town for a family reunion, so I had to set these balloons up 5 days ahead of time.

They still looked GREAT for the day of the party after rearranging, painting, and moving them outside!! I was so happy to have the second picture sent to me as I was heading back into town from camping.

Let’s not let scheduling conflicts stop us from working together!! 🫶🏻

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We had a beautiful day spent as a family. We got to enjoy parts of the celebrations in both Port Angeles and Sequim. We started the day in downtown Port Angeles, then my husband played at Carrie Blake park with his band ☀️ The day ended with a rushed drive back to enjoy the last part of the downtown PA celebration, and the fireworks on the water.

Summer has truly begun! I LOVE where we live ❤️🇺🇸

Our LEGO Birthday Party was a huge success!! I’ve had this theme in mind for months (years) but I really had no idea what colors I was going to use, or any other decorations until the day before. I threw it all together with items that we already had around the house, and this handmade LEGO guy that my dad made for a Halloween costume years ago!

Thankfully, I have a huge balloon collection to draw from so Iast minute works out just fine for me 😅

And with that.. comes the end of the birthday season for our family!! All 4 of us had our birthdays within the last 9 weeks!

4 YEARS IN BUSINESS 🥳👏🎉

Every year, I’m in shock at the fact that I’m still here, running this business that I love!

This year, Adam took on a more hands on role, in building our Marquee letters, and helping me as often as he can!

The past few years of entrepreneurship have been fun, stressful, invigorating, overwhelming, exciting, and MORE. The biggest thing I’ve gained from owning this business is the confidence I’ve built in myself. I couldn’t have imagined being here now, when I first started out 🥹

Marquee Letters! They’re quickly becoming one of the most requested services that we offer, and I couldn’t be happier about that! When you rent them out, you will pay for a delivery/return fee. This means that we will come and set them up perfectly so they’re stable and secure for your entire event. In this case that meant staking them into the grass (they wanted them placed on a slight hill) and adding additional weights so they could be used for photos all night long without worry! I then returned the next morning and cleaned up every piece of what we brought. These bring such a fun element to your event. We heard that they were a hit at this recent wedding, and I was sent several photos during the reception! What do you think we’re making?? 🤔I’ve been putting in quite a bit of my creative brain power to figure out how to pull this off and make it cute!!! I’ve spent so much time just staring at it.. trying to make it make sense. I was so lost! Thankfully, Adam is a lot more artistic than me and was able to step in and send me in the right direction. I was trying to get a Timelapse of my setup, but I ended up with something so much better 🥰 Bringing this sweet boy everywhere with me since 2018!

I wanted to share a super cool tip for transporting balloon bouquets! This helps in avoiding wind, and tangling from driving. Bigger garbage bags are great for the larger bouquets, too! I was able to transport 33 balloon bouquets in a truck without any tangles 💁🏼‍♀️ I’ve lost hours untangling balloons before 🙈 DON’T WORRY! I’m reusing these garbage bags. Each one of these bouquets represents a business participating in Novemberfest downtown this weekend. Get a head start on holiday shopping this weekend and support local!!

PAHS Graduation Arch!

My husband took yesterday off from his full time job to help me with my 4 installs, I couldn’t have done everything without his help! My phone died before the arch was finished, but here is a time lapse of us creating it!
