Social Norm's (creative social club for YOUth) is a community space and program by and for youth and young adults in Port Angeles and surrounding areas.

Our goal is to support the dreams, ideas, and goals of our young neighbors - while fostering a safe loving community and enriched social life.

if you or anyone you know is a member of the youth community and is looking for new/fun/interesting things to do or ways to connect - we would love to have you/them join us! We are open every Thursday from 6-8 PM, until we get enough participants to expand the open days/hours.

Feel free to message us if you have any questions, and/or share this with anyone who may be interested! Hope to meet any of you/your kids sometime in the near future 🙂

Spirituality and Ethics shape not only identity but human behavior inwardly and outwardly.

Faustin Ntamuxhobora, in his book, ‘Transformation through the Different Other,’ sees the primary problem that divides people is the “heart.” Pa 23

He goes on to write, “That race, tribe, and worldview differences can widen the gap among people’s relationships, thus leading to exclusion, even for faith-based Christians.” (pa.23)

Spirituality embraces unity in our connectedness, and ethics guide us through actionable and measurable behavior soulfully and mindfully. The heart that cares about difference and otherness becomes a gift both giving and receiving through reciprocity and which communicates reciprocally.

AdrianVan Kaam writes, “Such insight into the harmonization of the human and graced formation of the transcendent and pneumatic formation may help to deepen our own spiritual life to make us more integrated, less tense, and anxious, more appreciative, poised, form potent, and attractive in our whole personality.” Transformative Spirituality Volume One

Public policy that embraces gift-based economics understands the tension between for-profit and ecological balance by which the gap between those who have and those who have not builds bridges and not walls of separation and isolation. Spirituality connects the self to the greater whole without losing the sense of identity of personhood because personhood is best understood in relationship to difference and otherness, including transcendence.
