Burning Snowman Fest - A Compilation

Where do I even begin? In early 2015, I was at Catawba Island Brewing Company, when their bar manager, Lenny Kromer said to me, "We're going to be doing this thing called Burning Snowman. Would you be willing to come out and take photos of the event?" How could I not! The name of the event immediately had me intrigued. The inaugural Burning Snowman took place in Nugent's Canal at The Lagoon Saloon and was a rousing success.

Fast forward to 2025 on the eve of Burning Snowman and once again, I am preparing myself to take photos of this beautiful creation. However, this time I am also reflecting on the last 10 years of the event taking place. So many memories have been made at this event with many incredible photos taken. I have been blessed to witness The Burning Snowman stay ablaze from about 15-20 seconds during its first year, to staying ablaze for over 30 minutes in recent years.

This is an event that would not exist without the creativity, passion, and heart, of so many people that put their souls into creating this creature we lovingly call, The Burning Snowman. While I am just a guy with a camera at the end of the day, this event is a part of me at this point, and to anyone who has shared the experience with me, I say thank you, thank you for supporting this amazingly creative endeavor of some of the hardest working people around. This Saturday, February 22, thousands of people will flock to downtown Port Clinton to Docks Beach House and Mr. Ed’s Bar & Grill for the annual Burning Snowman Fest. 🔥☃️ The winter music festival for the 21 and over crowd features live music, food, drinks and a burning 25-foot snowman.
