We were honored to host the Port Huron Police Department and see such an incredible turnout for the annual Cops and Jocks Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser! Guests enjoyed delicious food from Chef Shell's Restaurant & Catering served by local law enforcement and RadioFirst DJs (WPHM Radio) — all in support of the C.A.P.T.U.R.E. program (Crime Awareness and Prevention Through a Unified Reporting Effort).

CityFlatsHotel in downtown Port Huron is pleased to announce a partnership with local business Chef Mike's Catering to provide premier catering services to the Ballroom.

“Our partnership with Chef Mike’s Catering brings a truly special touch to our event services at CityFlatsHotel,” said Melissa Shafran, General Manager of CityFlatsHotel Port Huron. “Their dedication to quality, homemade food aligns perfectly with our mission to create memorable experiences for our guests.”

Led by father-daughter team Mike Moretz and Melissa “Missy” Damon Chef Mike’s Catering, is a long-standing family business with deep roots in the Blue Water Area. Established in the early 1980s as a cinnamon bun shop, Chef Mike’s Catering expanded to include a deli, and in 1994, opened the former Crystal Gardens banquet center in Marysville.

“It doesn't feel like a job when you're working with family every day,” Damon said. “It's all family-owned and operated, with homemade food — Grandma's recipes. And that's what makes it, I think, more unique.”

Moretz emphasized the care and attention to detail that goes into every dish.

“We take so much pride in our food,” he says. “There’s a special love and dedication to everything we make and we’re excited to bring that to CityFlatsHotel.”

With this partnership, guests attending events in the Ballroom will experience the exceptional quality and personalized touch that has made Chef Mike’s Catering a local favorite.

“CityFlatsHotel is just a beautiful venue, it's part of the history of Port Huron, and we’re looking forward to being a part of it,” Damon said. “It feels like home already.”

These Crime Prevention activities include a Secret Witness Hotline; personal safety programs; Neighborhood and Business Watch and other related activities.
