Our 12 week Tournament: Summer Slam came to an end this week! We had the closest cumulative scores in the 3 years the tournament has taken place. The winners edged out the competition 392-389.

Ladies and gentleman, the 2024 winner of Summer Slam is Team IBEW! The team took home the belt and $120 cash! Look forward to next year’s tournament!

Saturday, Oct 26th. MakingStrides Against Cancer Walk @
Memorial Park (300 SE Ocean BIvd) in Stuart. 8-11 am. Join us as we celebrate courage and hope with this movement that unites communities to end breast cancer as we know it.

Saturday, Oct 26th. Hand2Hand /Non-profit) Community Car Wash. The event will be held outside of the Gertrude Walden Child Care Center in Stuart. 11am-3:00pm. This is a fundraiser to help the kids involved with the program to raise money to attend the Florida Blue Florida Classic football game (Bethune Cookman Wildcats vs. FAMU Rattlers)!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Hello everyone, we are less than one month away from Season 3 of Sunday Jazz in the Park! As you know. I play (deejay) you the best of Contemporary Jazz, Classic R & B and other cool stylings
for the first two hours. We conclude each show with a one hour live music concert. The event is free to the public!

Bring your chairs, blankets and coolers as we help you bring a relaxing end to your weekend or a great start to your week!

I am very excited as we have great food/snack vendors and a fantastic lineup of artists for the upcoming season!

Our shows will be held in Stuart (only), the 4th Sunday of each month from October '24 to April '25 at Shepard Park. Here is our schedule for the upcoming season:

Sunday, Dec 22nd, 2-5pm

To all my trivia teams. I will no longer be hosting trivia at TailGators on Thursdays. I was informed Thursday night that they have decided to move forward in a different direction. I will admit, I was surprised by this- or rather the timing of it but, not for the reason itself. A few weeks ago, I made a change to my trivia to no longer lend voice to any political coding or expressions. Subsequently, a few teams decided they would no longer come out to my trivia. That was their choice. The decision to change my trivia was my choice. I stand by my decision.

That being said, I have no animosity towards Tailgators as it is not personal, but business. They allowed me for many years, to hone and perfect my craft. I truly am now a "Trivia Master" lol. The seeds of my company started with trivia. I am thankful for that opportunity. I will miss the teams and the many friendships I made. I had a lot of fun and made a lot of great memories! I thank you for supporting me through the years. As they say, "The show goes on....."

As I turn the page, I will only be hosting trivia on Wednesday nights at Maya's Mexican Grille in Palm City. For those of you who have come to expect trivia that is second to none, I invite you to come out and join me. I have no plans at this time to pickup a Thursday night trivia as I have spent the last eight years doing so. It is time for a well deserved and long overdue rest. I look forward to seeing you all out soon! Take care of yourselves and God Bless.

I had to share this beautiful moment. Sometimes things are just meant to be. Yesterday, I was asked to deejay a class reunion but, not just any reunion. It was the 60th reunion of Stuart Training School. For those of you who don’t know, STS was founded for “colored” children before segregation was ended in the public school systems. STS existed for over 30 years. I grew up in East Stuart where the school was originally located. It goes without saying I knew many of the people and their families who came up through STS, including my family. In many ways it felt like my own family reunions. I really missed those days… On June 1st, unlike the last previous (Hot!) days, the weather was absolutely beautiful by the water in Downtown Stuart! The turnout was great and the event was catered with some really delicious food! It was a day to remember. The highlight was the various classes, but especially the Class of ‘64 singing their Fight Song! I was moved to tears. Sometimes, things are just meant to be. ❤️🥹

A big thank you to those who came out to Sunday Jazz in the Park in Indiantown yesterday. After the showers cleared, we had beautiful weather with a nice turnout!
