The Band Program at Port Saint Lucie High School has a rich history of success since the schools opening in 1989.. The students of the Port Saint Lucie High School Band Program make up the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Color Guard, and The Marching Jaguars, which features the entire program. The bands at PSL High School have received ratings of Superior and Excellent at nearly all Marching and Concert Band Music Performance Assessments since the schools opening.

We’d like to shoutout seniors Jack Markham and Dominic Dunnagan for being selected to participate in the FSU Tri-State band festival, and Executive Leadership members Ana Bergerman (band captain) and Christian Garcia (first lieutenant) for handling the SLC attractor night all by themselves! Excellence is what we preach! Go jags!!

We had a phenomenal time at Crown Jewel today! Shout out to for running a flawless and welcoming event as always! Our band did extremely well earning best in class in the Gold division, and best Color Guard in the whole competition! was incredible today!!! Special shout out to grand champions, …. What an incredible performance by you all! Band is amazing, love it, live it!!

Last nights game was a fun time! Even though the weather wasn’t cooperating to could get a performance on the field, we still entertained a lot of people with our show in the courtyard! This past week, two of our students, Amber Lewis and Ana Bergerman, had the incredible opportunity to compete with the Team USA/Sundancers at the USTA Nationals in Kissimmee, Fl! The team became the National Entertainment Corps champions and the Espirit De Corps winners! Special shout out to Ana for placing top FIVE in individual intermediate 2 and 3 baton! We are proud of all the hard work and for how you both represented PSLHS on a big scale this week!

This will help our front ensemble immensely as these are big batteries to have everything powered up before we even have to hit the field. The Port St. Lucie High School Band had a blast at Universal and Dave & Busters for our 2023 end of year band trip! Our Symphonic Winds received a superior rating for the second year in a row! We also had the amazing opportunity to welcome Mr. Cromer, Director of Bands at Southport Middle School, to join us as the leader of the trip! We could not be more thankful! Can’t wait for our Spectrum concert this Thursday and Band Banquet soon! Thanks to everyone who made this trip a success!!

On April 14th, 2023, the world lost an amazing human being. Vicky Matthews (pictured on the left) dedicated many years of her life serving as the PSLHS band’s “volunteer coordinator”, but was so much more to our band family. Whether she was leading the way on designing alternate uniforms for our marching band, or being the head of planning our banquets, or spending literally thousands of hours helping our program, she always worked very hard and selflessly. We will cherish our memories with “Mama Matthews” and wish her family peace in this time of loss. Thank you for everything. Overcoming adversity is a big part of the high school band experience. Like most of the bands in Florida, we have been dealing with less than ideal weather causing us to lose valuable field time. Yesterday our resilient students put in a 7 hour rehearsal after a 7 and a half hour school day, and made huge leaps in progression on the show! Here is a little peep 👀 of the show! Sloppy, yes, but we are so proud of the WORK they are doing. #keepgoing
