Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of meeting someone pretty special.
Within a few minutes of meeting her she had me smiling. Within a few exchanged words she had me hoping and praying for the best possible outcome for her awaiting phone call. Within a few minutes of hearing her play the piano I was a babbling mess.
Mags has played the piano since she was 5 and has attended the First Baptist Church in Sunbury since she was 16 years old. I wouldn't dare disclose her age because I can promise you this. Her photos are not retouched in a the slightest bit and apparently she doesn't age.
She played the piano for almost an hour with such grace and all from memory. Her Grandson Benson who often plays with her on Sunday mornings was there also. I swear there was a beam of light coming from her as she sat next to him and played.
Even though my favorite moments were listening to her play (I may have recorded some video just to be able to listen later). Chatting with her might will be my most cherished. Countless times she said "God has blessed me with a beautiful life". Hearing stories about her 3 beautiful girls, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grape juice making mishaps, to***co chewing, keeping the Priests she knew on their toes and working with my Pap at Acme back in the day. There is nothing more heart warming, refreshing and encouraging when you get to chat with someone who shines from within. Who beams with pride just talking about her family and the life she has lived (which by the way sounded very exciting).
Thank you Jade Boetsch for introducing me to this magnificent lady. Just when the weather is cold and grey. I had one of the warmest and sunniest mornings I have had in a long time.
