Derek will perform Rachmaninoff’s incredibly dramatic and virtuosic 2nd Sonata (1913 original version) in B-flat minor and Enescu’s 3rd sonata in D major. Glenn will join him to play the delightfully intriguing Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in F minor by York Bowen.

Since their serendipitous inception in a Southern Utah piano shop, THE PIANO GUYS have established themselves as an unstoppable musical force. This quartet, consisting of Jon Schmidt (pianist, songwriter), Steven Sharp Nelson (cellist, songwriter), Paul Anderson (producer, videographer), and Al van der Beek (music producer, songwriter), emerged as a musical phenomenon seemingly overnight. They have consistently delivered audacious compositions that effortlessly transcend the confines of style and genre, paving the way for a wildly successful career. A dynamic performer, Marguerite Juenemann can captivate an audience with her expressive solos. Vocalist, lyricist, and arranger, an emerging artist destined to leave her mark on the Jazz world and in our community!

Her solo career has led her to collaborate with musicians Richard Davis, Art Lande, Nancy King, Mark Murphy, Clark Terry, Cedar Walton, Lewis Porter, Eric Gunnison, Johnny Smith, and more. Over the years, she’s toured internationally as well, performing and conducting educational workshops throughout Europe.

Guitarist Gary Wittner has performed on 5 continents, representing the USA as a Kennedy Center Jazz Ambassador, Fulbright Specialist, and US Embassy Outreach Artist. He has worked with multiple bands, playing original instrumental and vocal jazz, latin and middle eastern music. Gary has performed with numerous jazz luminaries, and currently tours with S. African saxophonist McCoy Mrubata. He has released 7 CDs as a leader, and his book “Thelonious Monk for Guitar” has informed guitarists worldwide. Gary currently teaches music at USM and Bowdoin College.

Tony Gaboury is a jazz guitarist living in Portland Maine, and is considered the premier jazz guitarist in Northern New England. He’s taught Jazz Guitar and Harmony at Berklee School of Music in Boston, as well as residencies at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary and other European cities. He has recorded and played with well know jazz musicians such as Chris Potter, Ben Street, George Garzone and many others.
