Don’t mind the dead grass in the back, the Portland area is under yet another excessive heat warning. So I had a request for calla lilies and at first I panicked because I’d never made them before.

I can sometimes be a creature of habit and stick to the flowers in my wheelhouse. But I put on my girl pants and told myself I’d figure it out. I guess that’s a lesson for life too and a reminder that even though a new situation may seem daunting, you’ll figure it out, because you always do.

Plus it helps that I have my trust “what would Beyoncé do?” plaque near by!
