A handsome brick and stucco Tudor residence built in 1927, the house sits on over an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with views of the Willamette River and Portland’s West Hills. Inside, you'll find the charm of original woodwork, hardwood floors, beveled glass, tile fir

eplace, plentiful windows and French doors to a deck overlooking the grounds. Mature trees and lovely perennials frame the garden, and a rose covered trellis creates a focal point for a romantic outdoor wedding or reception in summer and early fall. The Overlook House is a perfect venue for your wedding, anniversary party, business retreat or any special event that deserves a beautiful and unique setting. Overlook House is in the heart of the city but off the beaten path. The house and grounds are adaptable for indoor and outdoor events. Furniture and rooms can be arranged to fit your needs. Chairs, tables, dishes and silverware are available for your guests, along with a full kitchen for food preparation, do-it-yourself or by your caterer. Capacity for indoor events is 75 people and outdoors is 150. The Historic Overlook House is minutes from downtown Portland or the airport and right near the Overlook Park MAX stop. Stewardship of the Overlook House is provided by the volunteers of the Friends of the Overlook House through a special agreement with the City of Portland’s Office of Neighborhood Involvement/North Portland Neighborhood Services and Parks and Recreation. All Rental funds are used to maintain and restore this wonderful home and its grounds.

The easter bunny is coming to the Overlook House on Saturday, March 30th at 10:30 sharp! There will be hundreds of egg-filled treats and toys so be sure to bring your basket! This event is presented free of charge by the Friends of the Overlook House (with donations greatly appreciated). Hope to see you there!

The Historic Overlook House is hiring!
We're looking for two part-time event staff to support weddings and special occasions. Monthly hours vary during the spring and summer season and are typically afternoon/evening. Primary duties include answering client questions, opening and closing, and responding to telephone inquiries.
Pay is $16.75/hr. Successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to promote a successful event in the context of a residential neighborhood. Customer service experience is a plus. Interested parties please email resume to: [email protected].
