We’re going to kick off our month of vendor gratitude by highlighting some of our favorite Seattle and Washington photographers!

Photographers are of course a crucial part of any vendor team / and there’s so much they do for that WE’RE thankful for! For example:

1. Helps us pace the timeline with photo schedules
2. Keeps communication open for wedding day changes
3. Captures the day (well, yeah!)
4. Gives us beautiful examples of vendors and their work for future couples
5. A great excuse for when the couple needs a break (pro tip: sunset photos are a great time for this)

We always have at least 2 planners onsite for every wedding, which means that we are fully prepared for setting up and managing two venues.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​In Portland, it's not uncommon to have an intimate forest ceremony at one of the many Portland Parks, and move your party to another location for reception. There's a lot of logistics involved, but you know this ain't our first rodeo! We'll help walk you though everything that we know comes along with a two-venue wedding, and make everything goes smoothly.

We planned this wedding in 3 months 😱​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Divya and Chris came to us to not only help them find their dream venue, but to also help them transform all their ideas into a plan and refine their design vision. When we started looking for venues together, it was just 5 months out!!

Here’s what D&C were looking for when it came to their venue:
- an October or September date
- a forest or mountain feel, with maybe a garden
- proximity to local hotels for out of town guests
- an outdoor ceremony

We worked with them to set up about a dozen tours, but ultimately, was the clear winner!

Once we nailed down the date, it was time to start designing and planning. D&C’s mood board consisted of plum and amethyst colors, and we helped them design a PNW-natural feeling tablescape that incorporated their colors and natural materials. really brought it all to life!

D&C booked one of our day-of coordination + design package, and we were able to support them through every step of the way 🤍 because believe us, our day-of packages are FAR more than just the day-of.

The days are getting shorter - but what does that mean for your wedding?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It means that we as coordinators take the sunset time heavily into consideration when building your timeline! We want to make sure we get your photos in while the light is still good, and that your ceremony will be well lit or has additional lighting. Sometimes that means starting your ceremony a little bit earlier, or doing more photos before ceremony instead of during cocktail hour.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it comes to design, we also like to play around with lighting! If you can’t start your ceremony earlier due to venue restrictions, lean into the early sunset and play around with ambient lighting. We’ve even done an intention evening ceremony for couples really wanting that moody feel. You might consider looking for a florist who offers candles as rentals, or ask potential photographers to share their low-lighting galleries to support your early evening vision 🌟

Sometimes, the standard ceremony set up doesn’t give everyone the best view. We LOVED Taylor and Caleb’s 360 ceremony, where their loved ones had a front row seat but the rest of their guests stood in a circle around them (since it was a short and sweet ceremony anyways). It was a simple and cheeky solution to not have to rent a second set of chairs or flip your chairs from ceremony and reception!
