For the longest time, I wrestled with one phrase that echoed way too loud:
“You’re too much.”
And for way too long, I believed it. I carried it like a weight, thinking *I* was the problem—that I needed to shrink, shift, and shape myself into something more palatable. That I had to be "just right" to be liked, accepted, loved… even by people I didn’t actually want in my life. (Classic people-pleasing 101.)
But lately? I’ve stopped pouring my energy into that. I’ve stopped bending over backwards trying to make myself *right* for everyone—and started showing up fully as *me*. The goofy, animated, high-energy, full-color, extra-smiley version. That version is my favorite.
And here’s the truth that hit me like a hug from the universe:
**Being “too much” is more than okay.**
It just means I’m not for *everyone*—and that’s actually a gift.
Because it does two beautiful things:
- It gently guides the *wrong* people toward where they’re meant to be.
- And it helps the *right* people find me faster.
Since embracing that truth—especially after becoming a mama—it’s completely changed how I move through both life and work. And wow… the people it’s brought into my world? Absolute gems.
I’m so dang grateful. Watching all this unfold has been one of the most joyful, affirming things.
This episode of "The Vendor Table" It’s a little window into all of that. My vibe. My thoughts. My *why*. And a love note to anyone who’s ever felt like they had to tone it down to be accepted.
Spoiler alert: You don’t.
