Here we go!

Bridgetown Portland Musical Theatre announced the cast for G.I. HOLIDAY JUKEBOX, its first dual-city production, opening in Portland before moving to Salem. Written by founder Rick Lewis, the show pays tribute to WWII's Stage Door Canteen.

BroadwayWorld is excited to announce the return of Next On Stage, Broadway's largest national competition for high school and college musical theatre students. Now in its fifth season, the competition aims to showcase outstanding young talent from across the country.

The deadline to submit is October 29, 2024, by 11:59 PM ET. Videos must feature solo performances without backing vocals and should be in an audition-style format, filmed horizontally against a flat background with a steady camera.

Submissions should be around one minute in length and uploaded to YouTube as unlisted or public links (please avoid "Shorts"). High school submissions are open to individuals aged 14-18, graduating between 2025-2028, while college submissions are for those aged 18-23, graduating between 2025-2029.

CASTING INFO:
1 female, 2 male, 2 boy and 1 girl featured roles

JIMMY JIBBETT, 12 (PRE-CAST). unchanged voice): Boy cartoonist

FATHER: 30’s-40’s: Jimmy’s “trying-to-understand-it-all-but-lost-in-his-old-habits” dad.

MOTHER: 30’s-40’s: Jimmy’s interior designer of a mother who is often on the phone, texting or rushing to the next whatever, but not really “there”.

UNCLE LESTER: 40’s-50’s: Jimmy’s songwriter of an uncle who can’t pay the rent and, therefore, lives with the family. He’s Mother’s brother and Father thinks he’s a floperoo.

LISI: 15-18: Jimmy’s bossy, loud, bossy, in your face, bossy sister. But she really loves Jimmy’s comics.

CHARLEY BEEMER: 15-18: The athletic boy next door who Jimmy wants to befriend and impress and who Father wishes Jimmy was more like.

PERFORMANCES: ONE WEEK IN SALEM / ONE WEEK IN PORTLAND.

I acquired this amazing postcard of The Tiffany Center when it was originally NEIGHBORS OF WOODCRAFT (1929). It's an amazing building. If you know the Bridgetown Conservatory of Musical Theatre ground floor space you can see the difference in entry door locations, etc. And there seems to be a stove in what is now our music studio! I have been collecting a lot of Neighbors of Woodcraft memorabilia. The building was commemorated in 1929 - so we're coming up on 100 years!

It is safe to announce that Sage will be the lead as Ralphie in the production of ‘A Christmas Story’ at Lakewood Center for the Arts . He gets to share this coveted roll with the formidable Cubby Furgison. You can catch Sage and Cubby beginning November 8 - December 15.
