few months ago my friend Theresa Bear found 3 large wooden window frames that had been discarded. She brought them to the studio saying that I probably would figure out what to do with them:-)
It took a while, but had a great time designing these simple structures. Yesterday I posted the first one.
This one was designed with a small tree (including the roots), fungi, a variety of ferns and pansies (dried in a flower press), moss, sepals of persimmon, dried leaf of tetrapana, wood shavings, pine cones, curly bark, amaranthus, lichen, tillandsia,, succulents, string of pearls, acorns, seedpods of beech, devil’s claw, poppies, lotus, abutilon,...

My friend @richearthdesigns started this asclepia hairy ball from seed earlier this year and it has been thriving in the garden. It is about 5’ tall!
The flowers are so delicate but are not a good cut; however the seedpods are very unique! I was curious what the seedpod looked like inside, so I cut it open and was quite surprised with what I saw…
Curiosity makes us discover new treasures!
Such a great evening in the studio last night! Look at all these fabulous framed woodlands designs!
